Can feederism make me feel less fat than I actually am?

If you mean:

You look at yourself barely chubby while someone else may look at you and think you are quite Fat?

I believe that being involved in this and into weight gain it is certainly true that we view fat as a lot more fat than someone without this fetish who are not into weight gain. But, I guess it is all just in perception. I can tell if my wife gains 5 lbs. but, I never think it looks bad, only better always. She has never gained enough weight for me to not try ink she was hottest at her heaviest.

Also, I guess my level of fat was on women has gone much higher over the years. Hopefully I answered your question a bit here.

It can skew your perception of things a bit. Our threshold for what constitutes as fat or chubby tends to be higher on average.

My experience is that I become accustomed to my current size as normal. And look at my earlier images as small. The same with others they need to be near to my size of me to think your fat. I once look at 400 as big and 500 as huge, now it's 600 and 700. So most at 300 on this site are skinny in my eyes these days.

very tru...my old partner who I considered fat at the time, when I see old photos of her I think she's now just plump, not fat...

Absolutely. Even at 300 lbs I still feel too small. When I was 240 lbs I almost felt skinny. When I first started gaining I thought 350 lbs would be huge, then I ballooned to 330 lbs and realized that to achieve the size I wanted I'd have to be more like 500 lbs.

Now I think of 300 lbs as just kind of chubby, especially if you're tall. My perception of weight is completely off from what a regular skinny person might think lol.
