Gaining

Powder as an alternative to cream?

In the past I've used Double Cream as a way to try and help gain, especially where I work retail and my shifts are all over the place, however, due to some IRL changes I won't go into this has become less viable.

So now I'm wondering whether something like flavoured weight gain powder with water could be a viable alternative?

To be clear, I know NOTHING about these beyond some health conscious people I know who actually enjoy going to the gym use the stuff.

Thank you.

Powder as an alternative to cream?

Hi
These weight gain powders are a good addition.

But they are usually many maltodextrin with some protein quite expensive.

The ideal combination for gaining weight would be a combination of fat and a fast carbohydrate.

So for a proper weight gain shake you need a fat source of some kind.

- heavy cream ist good, but also any kind of nut butter works as well.
To much fat will slow your digestion and make u feel full fast.
So don’t go over 60g of fat
—> 200ml of heavy cream
—> 100g of penutbutter

Than you need a fast carb source
Sugar, maltodextrin and fructose

Maltodextrin is far less sweet
So 60-90g of maltodextrin
(U can find it on Amazone and it is quite cheap 2kg come at 10-15€)
Plus some sugar

Than you need to make sure u like the texture. So add what u like milk is the miste common and works perfect.

Last past is the flavour:
There are flavour powders oder protein powders (make sure to use pure whey there should be no casein added because it fills u up more)
Fruits
Coffee
Caco

What ever u like just change it up and try some variations

With that combination each shake Hase around 1000kalories
Is easy to consume and u can add them in between meals.

Powder as an alternative to cream?

My husband works out and used to use a lot of powders for his muscles. So he tried to buy some for me to gain, and I can taste in absolutely everything. It sucks cause its hot as hel when he'd add it just my darn taste buds and my tummy hated it.

Sorry for the late response, been travelling.

In the past I used to use Double Cream with Vanilla Ice Cream to make milkshakes, but due to the aforementioned changes basically anything frozen/quickly perishable is something I'd like to avoid.

I also want to be relatively discreet, being a bit of a glutton and vanilla milkshakes I could get away with, but having something obviously intended for body building will set off alarms.

So ideally I want something I can buy from a brick and mortar shop on my way home from work or maybe at best somewhere my family/person I live with doesn't use like Holland and Barrett or Morrisons and then hide in say in my bedroom drawer.

By the sounds of it though, things are either going to be complicated and/or expensive, such as this:
