I read the messages above partly for giggles, I must confess ;-)

but honestly I felt I had to say something to try and bring the conversation back to the middle ground where it's possible to debate without getting crazy, if there's still such a thing.... so we'll see about that in a while ;-)

For the sake of this I was trying to agree with what Randi was saying while also expressing my own experience and frustration with people who are narrow minded and don’t really listen/care what I say. Especially if we’re talking about something more political.

Just letting you know that Kirk was pro-maga. I’ve seen clips of people who were placing the red hats during his memorial ceremony (or whatever that’s called) I get why people admire him for his boldness and passion even when it comes towards debating. But that doesn’t mean that the dude was a saint. Plus he’s got a big no no for fat people so there’s that.

But hey if you like him yourself then what am I to tell you. After all nobody regardless of what side you’re on, doesn’t deserve to go the way he did.

thank you at least for acknowledging that Charlie Kirk didn't deserve his brutal death.
I got a bit carried away, I perfectly know he is with the MAGA movement, and I don't really agree with everything he says, but at least he had the courage and honesty to go out and debate ideas in the real world, and for that, he's an example to follow ... that's all I meant .... and not everything has to become political in my humble opinion .... that's when the in your face push for "progress" starts to become annoying most of the time ....

Seeing someone with clearly manic (not an insult, an observation and descriptor) speech to the point that people can't understand them and then coming back into the conversation with "I don't really know what's been going on these last few days, it's been intense" (paraphrasing, but I think you'll agree I captured the point)

It's not ableism to call that out.

On the contrary, I say this out of concern and care, but people online are so intent on the idea of harm and hurt that they can't see when someone is authentically caring about someone's wellbeing.
