So I live in a more conservative area that wants to separate from Canada. While me personally I’ve never had to many bad run-ins with anyone right winged in real life, or at least not that I know of specifically. I’m fine with it as long as they don’t disrupt my personal peace if you know what I mean?

Of course the online world especially in social media where people do like to express their *truthful* thoughts out for everyone to see. All behind a screen and behind everyone’s back in the real world.

Yes that is correct I am from Alberta. While I’m not entirely on board with the separatist movement, I can understand why they’ve been so upset with the direction of how everything has been going.

Sadly, the latter part is true. As a left-winged person I can confirm they are not 100% perfect. I can remember encountering a thread about the Washington school system in a Seattle subreddit and someone villainized special ed kids. Not related to politics per say but I thought disabled people were as important as other minorities in progressive folks' eyes.

Depends on the progressive folks in question. I gave up on my local Pride events because they’re not very accessible and nobody seems to care. A lot of people talk a big game, but the moment someone asks for accommodations or brings up accessibility, you see what they’re really made of. I have met some folks who were incredibly sweet and supportive, and I appreciate them a great deal. Most don’t want to be bothered with disability issues though.

Then you get conservatives talking about how the social safety net shouldn’t exist, and people like me should go begging to private charities for whatever scraps they see fit to bestow upon me. Or, you know, just go away and die quietly in a corner to save them a few cents on their taxes.

When it comes to fat and disability, nobody’s on our side except us and maybe our loved ones if we’re lucky.

Political and religious generalizations paint an inaccurate picture regarding body positivity and fat acceptance.

Any Christian disparaging others' obesity should reassess how they reconcile such a stance with the beliefs they claim to espouse.

To me it feels like people who are Conservative (especially those who have Christian beliefs) really seem to have quite a big no no when it comes to fat people. Especially when they are calling them “disgusting creatures”. Not to mention how it’s often a lot of anti-woke crowd really love to slam and burn up body positivity, especially now more than ever since its peak went downhill.

So I guess for the sake of this post is that is there any notable conservative who is fairly open minded about fat people and not vilifying them?? Or if not that if there’s anyone here who IS conservative I’d like to hear your thoughts.

(btw. I’m not a political person by nature I’m only talking from what I have been noticing)

I do hope you're able to research this topic a bit more rather than going off of assumptions... I do kind of worry this line of thinking has to do with feederism being tied to the LGBT+ community and the stereotyped disdain that American Conservatives (stereotyped as being more straight) have towards American Liberals (stereotyped as being more in the LGBT+ community). At the end of the day, political affiliation means very little - it's the behavior of the person that means the most. Generalizing a large group's behavior is rather reductive.
Do correct me if I'm wrong though! I also am politically unaffiliated, so I'm just rebounding of what I took from this statement. Would love to start a dialogue and get a stronger sense of what you mean.
