Gaining

Havent been able to gain anything for 2 years

Hi, I haven't been able to put on any weight whatsoever in the past 2 years despite eating more than most would. I'm unsure if its because my budget is too tight with basically paying most of the rent for me and my roommate, or if my metabolism suddenly came back with a vengeance.

Does anyone have any ideas to kill metabolism after it comes back to haunt you?

Limited budget? That always hurts things.

I wonder if you considered how many calories you're getting in? And whether you're being consistent.

Massive stuffings can be fun but will be self defeating if it means the next day you eat almost nothing.

Some have reported that fasting for a day sometimes can cause the extra calories to seemingly almost cling as extra weight, though I don't think that works for me.

Certain condiments can be particularly loaded with calories. If you don't like mayo, you don't but if you, that has a lot of calories.

I do know you like to get fast food sometimes, either because you want to or it's late after a long day and you don't have the energy, time, or will to prepare something. Paying close attention to the specials can often get you more than you otherwise could.

Taking half an hour or so to study the weekly sales at the supermarkets can also often mean spending $20-40 less than you otherwise would have.

Heavy cream shakes/drinks can be particularly effective, especially if shortly before sleeping or times when you don't think you can eat much or anything for awhile. But I don't know what your roommate might say or think about that. And you should make sure most of your calories do not come from that way. But, I will say heavy cream has very likely helped me gain a considerable amount of weight over the years.

Other than that, not really sure what else I can say based on the limited information provided. That and I don't really want to ask probing questions.

You're eating too healthy. You need a lot of empty carbs. Bread, pasta, potatoes and pastry. Don't drink water, drink cheap diet soda, the sweetness will spike your insulin and make you fat.

heavy cream is mega nasty but I feel like its kinda the only option without more money rn. Also my roommate is fully aware of my fat fetish and goals to gain weight.

If you're seeking help then you'd do better by being polite and thanking people for their input. If you think I need to know what you're eating then how about telling me?

Maybe ask before assuming or something and also just telling people to eat garbage is not good advice. I also would not say what i said was rude

Anyways I eat a lot of frozen foods, I make sure I get every food group but I mostly eat what most people would consider junk food like pizza, burger, hot dogs, chips, desserts, etc.

I do make sure to throw in proper meals sometimes like with beef and veggies and stuff too as im looking to gain weight, not completely ruin my health

Also I drink a lot of soda

You mentioned you find heavy cream nasty. Drinking it straight isn't for everyone, nor is it very effective for gaining. Instead, mixing it with something that has more substance can help it digest.

Personally, heavy cream, 1 pint, and one box of instant pudding, usually vanilla or banana cream flavour. If you're used to stuffings, then this will definitely help. We calculated this out to almost 2,000 calories per batch, and use this to pad calories in tight times.

You can mix this without a blender, and its better than most gain shake ideas we have had. You can add nuts, for even more, but that requires a blender and doesn't taste great with vanilla. Other than that, our diets sound pretty similar... Kita will note more micronutrients, so eating things like veggies and mushrooms, is actually *really* important to gaining.

Macronutrients are the materials, but micronutrients are the catalysts. So you might have overcorrected into eating too many macronutrients.

Physical activity can make a difference, but not usually through burning the calories. It is through endorphin and neurochemistry stuff; or, if your job has you doing things like lifting, squatting, etc, then muscle mass competes with your fat for these resources. Not having a physical job did a lot for our gains once the muscle mass reduced.

Lastly, hormones are a big factor. Some people can only get so big, and sometimes you'll plateau for a good while before your hormones shift and you break that barrier.
