Gaining

Mayonnaise

Hi, I have a partner who is interested in gaining, and I just watched her put away just about half a smallish bottle of mayo, Regular Ordinary Swedish Meal Time style (if anyone remembers that channel), with practically no problem.

Mayo seems to have a lot of fat in it, how viable is it?

Mayonnaise

Yeah, mayo is basically liquid calories. It’s mostly oil, so it’s insanely dense for the volume. From a pure gaining perspective, it “works” because you can rack up a ton of calories without feeling super full compared to something bulky like rice or potatoes.

That said, straight mayo shots can get gross fast. If she genuinely enjoys it, fair enough — some people do. But long term it’s probably easier (and less likely to make her nauseous) to just load it into actual food. Thick on sandwiches, mixed into tuna or subway surfers chicken, extra in pasta salads, that kind of thing. Same calories, less shock to the system.

Also, doing big hits of pure fat can sometimes mess with your stomach if you overdo it. So I’d say viable? Yes. Sustainable? Depends on her tolerance and whether she actually likes it or is just doing it for the calorie punch.

If she handled half a bottle no problem though… sounds like she’s got the stomach for it 😅

Mayonnaise

And homemade mayo is so much better and easy to prepare. Here is a recipe I use often.

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon mustard (more or less depending on your taste)
1 tablespoon white vinegar
oil
salt
pepper
1 egg

Recipe:

In the container sold with the hand blender (narrow and tall), crack the egg and add the mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper.

Then, if your container has measuring marks, fill it with oil up to the 300 ml mark (otherwise it’s about 200 ml of oil).

Place the blender all the way to the bottom, switch it on, then slowly lift it up.

Do not turn off the blender until the oil has completely emulsified into the mayonnaise.

And there you have it: a very creamy mayonnaise in just 2 minutes.

Add spices according to your taste: paprika, etc.
