You can't control where you gain wieght for the most part. It does help with more calories in, but the fat goes where it goes.

Only thing i found to be somewhat true is sugar and alcohol def contribute to a bigger belly inatead of all over gains. But it def is way more dependant on your body and genes than anything

I’ve heard cortisol can be a factor in gaining visceral fat, but I’m not sure that’s something anyone wants to intentionally cultivate…otherwise it’s hard to get around genetics.

I’ve heard heavy cream can potentially help with more subcutaneous fat accumulation but as our friends have said above still can’t control exactly where it goes

This is still a myth. Hormones have the most affect on visceral VS subcutaneous fat, but even that is not predictable. There isn't much control. Maybe if scientific research was less focused on fat loss we could learn more from academia.

Here is a clue, I put it as simply as I understood it and I am sure physicians would have a better way to describe this process: subcutaneous fat relies on specific cells under the skin. It takes some time for the body to develop them and to store more fat. So if the intake is high and the subcutaneous locations are already saturated, the body decides to store in visceral locations. While this process happens, subcutaneous locations develop but much slower.

So I understand that moderate and steady over-intakes have more chances of being stored subcutaneous than intense high ones.

I think this explanation could be validated when considering that the softer bodies have often been overweight for a long time.
