While dad bod never meant extreme obesity usually more bit of a beer belly looking back I do remember it on social media featuring a lot of images of beer bellied men with relatively slender women.
While I know this is a result of stricter beauty standards for women and possibly comedic as well it is accidentally appealing for the contrast fans of this fetish.

The irony from this is that I find that the women who want to be thinner/healthier apparently like their man to be bigger than them. 😅

I can even say from my own dating experience from some people I have spoken towards.

And yet I assume I assume the vast majority are not feeders in the fetish sense.
It’s almost stranger than if they were in a way.

One argument I seem to remember for dad bods was actually that women should be the pretty ones.
I think the men into thicc women are probably more likely on average to genuinely prefer them visually and sexually into them (no I don't claim 100% certainty).
Still I do wonder if there might be a slight subconscious arousal at the contrast among some without them even realising? That might just be projection.

I’m not sure if my memory is correct, but I think there was a user who mentioned that not everyone knows that there is a thing about this particular fetish without actually realizing it. Can’t say that it might be the case for the situation you are describing, but it’s something to think about.

If women on here truly like big men, then they would be sending more messages to them. Most of the message's come from trans and males. Very rare for females to contact me just to want to get to know me. 99% want me to send them gift cards and/or buy a membership to their only fans webpage.

Those who want intimacy don't want to jump the gun. They want to know the person better other than solely being attracted to them.

From my personal experiences as a woman on my old account, (my gender is hidden on my profile) some of the guys that DM me reek of desperation and suddenly are in love with me despite briefly talking a bit. Which is a giant red flag.

This isn't to bash the person above me and I do hope he finds a deep connection. But I interpret the comment is putting the blame on most women when in reality it's in the fault of patriarchy issues and the rise of loneliness/mental health in this modern society. Plus other people working so many hours which hinders wanting to pursue a serious relationship.
