Enzymes

Does anyone use digestive enzymes and what was your experience. Has it helped or not? Maybe enzymes could make it possible to eat more and digest faster.

From own experience I can tell you, it was a short lived effect. My body reconginzed the additional enzymes and level it out.. + 1kg was the effect back those days. Not worth the money as far as I can tell.

As said might be a different story for anybody else.

Also from my experience, nothing beats consistency! Over eating on just regular food builds up stomach capacity, trains your brain to look for larger portions.. you get fat and there is no going back - you might keep that in mind.

Totally agree. Consistent overeating is the key!

Well it depends on how good your digestiv system works.

If you get issues with your digestion that might keep you from eating more they can be good.

For example you have issues after drinking 500ml of cream, add some enzymes (lipases and lactase). See how you react.

They are more a tool if you can’t eat as much as you would like.
I’m the end constant caloric surplus is what gets you fat.
So anything that ensures you end up with more calories than you need is good.

You can't just take a bunch of digestive enzymes and digest your food at super speed. Your body uses the enzymes it needs, and the excess will be passed through with the waste. The best use for them is if you have digestive problems. There are also many different digestive enzymes that do different things, so what you get out of it depends on what you take. There is no blend that contains everything, and you may need more of something than what comes in a blend anyway.

- If you feel sick or have heartburn after drinking heavy cream, or eating anything super greasy or buttery (high in fat), then ox bile is the best supplement to take. Lipase does the same thing in a different way, so you may need a blend of both to get the best results.

- If you feel the same symptoms, or if you get really gassy after eating any kind of dairy, you will need lactase.

- If you get heartburn or acid reflux, you can reduce your symptoms by taking antacids, but what might work better is taking pancreatin since that addresses the cause instead of just the symptom. If this is a consistent issue, you may have GERD and might need to take a proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole.

- If you get symptoms after eating a lot of meat or protein, OR if the food has been sitting in your stomach for hours and you're starting to get rotten tasting burps, you should take betaine HCL with pepsin. This will increase your stomach acid, so if anything could help you digest faster, it would be that. Be careful though, as having excess stomach acid will cause bad heartburn.

There are many other enzymes besides these, but these will be good for most situations.
