Gaining

Are we still using heavy cream to gain?

I’ve been on and off here throughout the years and it seems like using heavy cream to gain comes and goes in popularity. Some people swear by it and some people say it’s awful for you and doesn’t help.

Where are we with it? I’m thinking about using it to gain. Since 2018, I’ve only managed to gain 20 pounds. I’m probably the worst gainer ever. I’m ready to get big and want to know if cream will help

Are we still using heavy cream to gain?

Hey! Personally, heavy cream really helped me gain weight; like you, I couldn't seem to put on any weight before I started drinking it

But ever since I started mixing it with chocolate milk and protein powder, my weight has shot up (since heavy cream on its own tastes bad). I gained over 50 lbs in 6 months, along with some fast food and snacking here and there

I’d recommend adding heavy cream to your diet and gradually increasing the amount over time

Back when I tried to really push a gain, double cream did help, I presume HC is similar enough. I would blend it into an ice cream milkshake (drop of milk, DC and ice cream) using a small easy to clean blender.

The biggest mistake I made during this was one time I drank some before I ate a decent meal and then got asked to cover someone at work so I skipped that meal....I went through quite a bit of toilet roll.

Also make sure your kcal intake is still good enough, otherwise you could be wasting money.

If I was to try cream again, the main difference I would make is adding milk shake flavouring like the Nesquick powdered flavouring.

I've done it a couple times! Usually takes me about two weeks for real njce results just a pint a day with chocolate milk. I recommend taking milk thistle to help protect liver and kidneys though last time I did it I gained 10 lbs smiley

Anybody using heavy cream to gain should try whipped cream. It’s heavy cream with sugar. And it tastes so good.

Heavy cream and its usefulness for gaining is more complex than people realise. It has a lot to do with how its used and consumed.

For starters, drinking it straight is not particularly effective. If it doesn't bind to anything in your guts, it basically just acts like a lubricant. The equivalent of drinking oil. The secret is binding it to something else so that it can have the time to be digested.

In our experience, substituting milk with heavy cream for making a box of instant pudding is actually pretty effective! The gelatin in the pudding mix binds really well and makes it more solid. Can be a little difficult to eat the whole thing unless you've trained some stomach capacity, but one box of pudding and a pint of good quality heavy cream is nearly 2k calories on its own.

Some other suggestions for binding it to something: milkshakes, smoothie powders, blended fruits, protein powder, oatmeal, basically anything thick or solid that appreciates milk.

If you're used to dairy products, this isn't a bad way to force some extra calories, but you gotta be wary of cholesterol. Heavy cream is pretty high in cholesterol, so over-relying on heavy cream, or having an already high cholesterol diet and adding it, can lead to heart problems.

YMMV

Are we still using heavy cream to gain?

I was able to drink cream in the past and it helped me gain. The last time I tried drinking it mixed with a off brand boost it really upset my stomach, to the point where I almost threw up in the middle of the night. I did chug my shake before bed so that probably didn't help. Now I mainly gain by eating junk food and drinking lots of soda. I unfortunately don't have a working freezer right now otherwise I would be gaining by eating melted ice cream, which I prefer to do over than using heavy cream. I know you can add cream to dishes but I don't cook.

Hmm... I'm definitely not the most experienced person in this field but I believe that consistency and slowly easing into things is key in these situations.
I'm planning on starting changing out the water in my protein shakes and replacing it witch hc, but, in order to avoid those side effects, start with maybe 50 to 100ml per day to take it to 330ml. You could try that maybe.. and space it out during the day

this is great information - thanks for sharing it! i think it will be really useful for people that are really interesting in gaining.

i get the feeling that chugging straight cream has been sort of fetishized, in a way. personally, when i have experimented with it, it turned my stomach. once something grosses you out, it's hard to even think about having it! i think mixing it into something tastier and more palatable is a fantastic idea.

getting fat should taste good, right? the journey is just as important as the destination. smiley
