Jez, being from Aus, I obviously don't have a local premier league team to follow, and when I first got into the league in the late 1990s, Man Utd were the team that was on TV the most and was having success so I chose to support them. Since then I've always supported them, watched as many games as I could/can, been to Old Trafford etc, etc. Am I not a true fan because I'm not from Manchester?
If you mean what gotenksssj22002 said, than it still depends. There are many completely valid reasons why someone could support a team that isn't their local team. What I hate is when that support is fleeting, or revolves purely around success.
