Gaining hard fat or soft fat?

Visceral fat is the hard fat and is under the muscles and surrounds the internal organs. That is what makes the hard pot belly.
Subcutaneous fat is the soft fat that sits just under the skin and gives people flabs, cellulite, natural non-muscular curves, etc.
I personally really want to gain subcutaneous and get a big flabby belly to play with.
There are many people who like hard pot bellies though.
I do know what these fats are and generally how they function, however, I do not know how they are stored.
So, to everyone of size: Which kind of fat do you consist of mostly and how did you get that way (what did you eat and what is your activity level like)?

Gaining hard fat or soft fat?

I am not in a gaining mode as yet. I have gained a few pounds lately, as well as over many years of marriage. I am about twenty pounds heavier than when I got married. My weight is in my abdomen as visceral fat. I also carry some weight on my buttocks which are only an inch smaller around than my waist. I do prefer a large protruding abdomen, but I would like some subcutanaeous fat for a jiggle. I would prefer not to have a sagging "apron". Just a few thoughts, Ned Fox

Gaining hard fat or soft fat?

I'm around 580lbs, and most of my fat is the jiggly subcutaneous sort. And I prefer it this way...if I had a hard belly I'd probably start dieting and exercising like crazy.

Also I think it has more to do with your genes than what you eat, as far as I've been able to tell what you eat doesn't have much effect on how you gain.
