Table or booth

My boyfriend is 6' and 300 lbs, most of it carried in his belly. Everytime we go out to eat, which is pretty often, he asks for a booth if they have one. He doesn't look squished in them but I guess i assumed larger ppl would prefer a table where they can move the chair freely. I don't know. What are you're preferences and why? -curious FFA

thanks everyone. It's very interesting. And I asked him yesterday and he said like some of you its for the privacy.

Table or booth

At a fast food restaurant, I'm sometimes tempted to squeeze myself into a booth, just for the show of it. But nowadays, I'm pretty much only able to be seated at one of the regular table and chairs.

The stares I get when I do manage to squeeze myself into a booth are priceless though. smiley

Table or booth

I definitely prefer the booth for so many reasons. First, there is the privacy etc. I like having my personal space, and at a table, people can get too close as they pass. Tables are also usually in the center of the room, and I prefer to be near a window or door (nope, no paranoia here!). Then there are the chairs themselves. I have a big butt and big thighs (that I love dearly), but I'm not a fan of the overhang. Finally, booth seats just seem sturdier. I really don't want to break a chair in public, thank you smiley

Table or booth

I haven't seen a booth I could fit into in years, unless the table isn't fixed to the floor.

If the table can be moved then I can usually fit, though that tends to make for a bit of a tight fit for anyone sitting on the other side. So I usually go for a table with regular chairs.

I prefer booths for the same reasons many have said. I like the privacy. I like being able to lay out my coat and belongings on the bench. Booths have been getting a lot tighter for me so I am enjoying them before they become a thing of the past.
