How about a VitaMix? They have plenty of power and they are the same manufacture as Micky D's.

For a less expensive model, I would recommend the beehive, super simples, jist one switch. . Off/On.

That's correct, the less to be cleaned up the better. If it's easy one will be more inclined to use it as opposed to being a pain in the posterior.

Best one I've ever used was a Vitamix 3600 plus +. I will note that you don't ever want want to stall it, it will trip breakers. That said this was also the blender we used for iron stomach challenges so it can blend most anything.
