acanthosis nigricans... I'm not 100% sure but that could mean that your GF has insuline resistance. the best thing that you can do is to go to the doctor just to be sure.

Arcanthos is commen in the arm pits, and a clinical marker for a malign disease. Never heard that it is linked to DM But an appointment with your Dr. Is a fine idea
