Gaining

Fattening habits?

I’m trying to change my habits so that I can someday gain and maintain to a higher weight without constant effort. So far I have had a pretty successful gain- about 15 pounds so far! It’s been a grind, though, and my biggest fantasy is to be lose control and gain without trying or even while trying not to, so obviously I’ve got to make some changes.

The new habits I’ve been working on picking up right now are keeping bags of chocolate around the house to eat from all day, eating when I’m up late at night, and increasing portion size. The latter hasn’t been that successful because I still get nauseous when I eat too much, but the first two have been working so far!

What are your most fattening habits, and what habits do you think would be fattening? How do you pick up a new one and stick with it?

Honestly, try to minimize standing. Take naps after meals if possible. I've also read that if you're able to, fasting for bits of time makes your metabolism slow so you'll pack on fat easier.

If you're not against it, heavy cream or ice cream shakes every week or few days helps put a ton of weight on.

And keep on snacking whenever you're doing anything, it'll help a lot. And replace water with high calorie drinks like apple juice

Fasting for bits of time (sometimes very long bits of time, since I forget to eat when I’m busy) is a habit I’ve already got, so whenever I do manage to up the calorie intake, it always has a big impact! I usually gain a few pounds a week when I eat a lot, but eating a lot is what’s hard for me.

Heavy cream is something I’d love to try someday but isn’t doable with my current living situation- I could however try to eat ice cream more often. Juice could also make a big impact, I’ll bet- I’m always thirsty because of a medication and drink more than most people in a day, so it could add up. I’ll have to try it!

Thank you for the advice!

Having a *variety* of foods always on hand and a habit of wanting to sample a bit of everything. Some people get a special kick out of alternating salty/savory with sweet.

Keeping a variety around is essential for me because I get specific cravings and don’t want to eat anything else at all so having, say, oreos in the house can make the difference between not eating dinner or going on a big binge. So, I always keep around a ton of different things even though I tend to eat them one at a time. Thank you for the advice!
