Gaining

Tips for gaining weight

Start slow, don't try to rush. You don't want to get your body used to eating a certain amount and then vomiting.

Work on stomach capacity. The more you can hold, the more you will tend to eat. When you feel full, stop. Take one more bite. If you still feel ok, try another bite. If you start to feel like the food is going to come back up, stop. You might want or need to sleep on your left side or sitting in a chair as you digest.

Don't drink too much water at one time, it can have fatal results.

Don't start by gorging on sweet stuff. If you aren't used to the sugar, it will most likely come back up.

Eat high calorie food.

Figure out about how many calories you burn in a day, and eat more than that. Don't try a 10,000 calorie challenge everyday, though.

Switch food so you don't get weary of food. Sweet, salty, smooth, crunchy, variety helps.

It helps if everyone you know gives you some kind of snack, but not everyone has that. Offer to finish your friend's leftover food that they didn't breathe all over.

Maybe buy semi-expensive junk food so you feel guilty about wasting the money if you don't eat it.

Add dessert or extra food to your meals. Two bacon egg and cheese biscuits for breakfast? Don't forget the hash browns and apple pie... Don't forget the snack in between meals...

Hang around people who eat more than you. You might start to copy their eating habits.

Buy bigger, loose fitting clothes so you don't feel them getting tight.

Use bigger plates. “I can't be full, I've only had half a plate...”
