This is not my recipe, I found it on the internet.
I have already cooked it myself, and it tasted so good that I had to share it with you.
I have translated the recipe into English and I hope it is understandable.
Käsekrainer Stew or
Cheese stew with sausage and garlic baguette
Ingredients: (The recipe is measured in grams and Celsius)
10 Käsekrainer (I think it is called Polish sausage in North America, but this sausage has also cheese bits in it. Or you can also choose any other sausage that you like)
700-800 grams Processed cheese
250 grams of grated cheddar
150 grams of butter (for garlic butter)
1 cup of green onions
1 cup of cream
2 cups of vegetable stock
1 tablespoon flour
5 cloves of chopped garlic (3 for frying, 2 for garlic butter)
Some parsley
Some white wine
Some chili flakes
Some olive oil for frying
2 baguettes
Spices:
Pepper
Salt
Mediterranean spice mix
Instructions
Cheese stew:
1. First, the sausages are fried.
Alternatively, toast them in the oven at 200 °Celsius for about 15 minutes., turning occasionally, until they have a nice color.
2. Put oil in a pot and roast the garlic in it.
3. Shortly after, add the green onions and roast them as well.
4. Add flour, roast briefly and then deglaze it with a good shot of white wine.
5. Add vegetable stock and cream and let it boil down a bit.
6. Season it with salt, pepper and Mediterranean spice mix.
7. When the sauce has thickened a bit, add the processed cheese and stir it in.
Then stir in the cheddar until it is melted too.
8. Cut the fried sausage into small pieces and add them to the stew.
9. Add some parsley and chili flakes (and season it again if needed). Then serve with garlic baguette.
Garlic Baguette:
1. Mix soft butter with some pepper, salt, Mediterranean spices and add 1-2 cloves of chopped garlic. Let it rest for a while. (Alternatively, you can also use already prepared garlic butter from your lokal Store).
2. Cut the baguette in half, spread with garlic butter and toast it in the oven.
