With weight gain I know there are a lot of things that need to be taken care of, knees, back, healthy body function, etc. I don’t want to struggle and feel miserable if I gain weight and put my life at risk, so I want to keep working my body while gaining weight. Is yoga good to stay in good health or would the gym be better?
The gym environment just kind of stresses me out, I could easily do yoga at home.
Yoga can definitely be a great way to stay healthy while gaining weight, especially if the gym environment stresses you out. Yoga helps strengthen muscles, improve flexibility, and maintain good posture, all really important for easing pressure on your knees and back as you gain weight.
The gym can also be beneficial, especially with strength training that supports your skeleton and muscles, but if you feel comfortable with yoga and can stick to it, that’s totally fine. The key is to listen to your body, avoid pushing too hard, and keep moving in a way that feels good and safe. If possible, I’d recommend mixing a bit of both, but yoga alone is definitely a solid way to stay connected to your body and keep it healthy during the process.
