Favorite concerts, live music shows?

I'm wondering who here enjoys a good band with live drums, maybe some lights, smoke machines? At opulent venues or tiny, crusty pits - what are your favorite concert experiences? I recently saw an Australian band in a basement on a cold December night. Pond! They're amazing, so underrated. Also, are you looking forward to any shows this year?

Going to see NIN for the…fourth? time. I’ve seen them in 93 (Broken) and 94 (TDS) and in 95 with Bowie. I’m excited.

Best show I’ve been to might be Metallica’s Black album tour. Just a lot of energy, the guys were young, and Enter Sandman was huge.

I used to really enjoy going to shows but I think after years in my industry my ears have gotten hyper sensitive to loud noise and I find the whole thing very overwhelming, it also certainly doesnt help how big I am getting around in a large crowd isn’t as inciting as it used to be.

I went to alot of edm shows those were alot of fun, but I think I kinda grew out of that type of music also and retreated back to more indie stuff. I saw cigarettes after sex a while back that was a lot of fun, and I didn’t feel as overwhelmed

Some of my live music highlights include Stevie Nicks twice, Dr. John twice and Rush during what ended up being their final tour.

NIN are amazing live! Where are you seeing them this time? I saw them with Bowie too and that was my first ever rock concert. I saw them again several years ago when I was visiting New Orleans, Reznors home town. He put on an amazing show in a smaller theater there.

Thinking about this reminded me of when I saw the killers at Coachella I think in 2005? They were at a tiny side stage and hardly anyone was watching them but I thought they sounded good and respected that they were all playing really hard wearing 3 piece suits in 100 degree F weather. Randomly I saw Beck at Coachella that same year, in a tent my friends and I went in to get a break from the sun. He wasn’t on the lineup but was leading like 15 people in a singalong.
Anyway, back to the killers—I saw them again a decade later playing in their hometown, Las Vegas to 20,000 people for the grand opening of the golden knights stadium.

I love live music and have seen so many genres and artists. Honestly my favorite memories of all have been at small sweaty warehouse raves/ punk shows where friends were playing the music

I’ll look them up, never heard of them! I want to see Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, they’re coming to sf in 2 months. If I can find someone to go with that is, I don’t know if any of my friends like them

I've seen Rush twice, once during the Clockwork Angels tour and last for R40. Managed to see Yes perform their first three albums at the Fox Theatre in Detroit (they played Roundabout for the encore, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure fans). Neil Young, solo and with Crazy Horse. King Gizzard too many times to count. Little Dragon once. Saw Gary Numan and he even played his beloved song Cars (that he hates). Rushed through it hahaha. I'm a sucker for live music, I'd love to catch Courtney Barnett soon. She's been on my list for a while.

I'm going to see Marillion (my favourite band) in May for what will be the 8 and 9th time (they're doing two different gigs at the same venue in two days) and if you're into bands like Pink Floyd and Radiohead they're the greatest band you've never heard of ?si=iAbQmKbGBSuw7Itu

Also will be seeing Opeth next week and Steven Wilson, again in May
