Fat experiences

Does anyone here like to feel fatphobia? how to deal with it?

I've seen that there are many people into feederism, some of whom like it and are turned on by fatphobia.
In my case, I'm in the process of becoming obese, but this topic repels me a bit. I'm from Spain; there aren't as many obese people here as there are in the US, so it's not as normalized. In my case, I want to be obese, have a huge body, experiment, and be seen as such, but I want to be treated with respect and I don't want to receive criticism for it.
That's the only thing that scares me about gaining weight. Like I said, I want to have a really fat body and be treated and seen as such, but I don't want to be insulted or rejected for it. I know some of you might like this, but I don't. What do you think?

Unfortunately, being fat is something visible to everyone you encounter, and you can’t control how they feel about it. Even if people aren’t romantically or sexually interested in you, many still have something to say about fat bodies and not all of it is positive.

The reality is - as a fat person you’re likely to get looks and comments, whether from strangers, friends, or even family. Some may express concern about health, while others use it as an easy way to make a joke at your expense. Sadly, fat people remain easy targets, and in many circles, commenting on larger bodies is still seen as acceptable.

The real question is... how much do you actually care about what random people say or do? Do you really want to let others dictate your existence or your happiness?

I grew up overweight/on the fatter side.

As a kid/teen it was horrible, but as an adult I found no one really cares.

The only comments I would say you really need to be prepared for is friends/family/cow workers, as those are people you'll regularly encounter.

If you're lucky, they're indifferent.

If you're unlucky they might be genuinely concerned but because they THINK they're being helpful.

If you're really unlucky though, they might be malicious.

In my case, I've managed to blow over what little response I got by saying something along the lines of 'I stopped caring and just want to enjoy things while I can' and even joke about how fat I'll get.

But then I'm from the UK.

Really, the only way to tell will be to gain and see the response. In your case, worst case, maybe be prepared to lose weight if it causes too many problems.

Personally, I've never been overweight, and the fact that I've now decided to gain weight until I'm obese would be even more shocking than someone who has been overweight in the past.

Although it may surprise them a little at first, over time they'll accept that I'm now obese and that this is and will always be my body.

Well, I don't really care much about the opinions of random people. I'm mainly referring to the opinions of people close to me, like family and friends.
You know, I've always been at a normal weight, but I have a desire to have a very obese body. Making that change makes me uncomfortable when my family makes comments like, "You need to lose weight," "That's not good," etc.

If a person who has always been overweight gains more weight, it is not surprising, however, if a person who has always been in a normal body weight gains a lot of weight, then yes.

I’m not sure how it is in Spain and the situation isn’t the same for everyone but generally assuming your family and friends aren’t evil people praying on your downfall they won’t say a thing and you’re overthinking it.

If you’re worried about it cross the bridge when you get there but for now you have a while until the concern comments come

I LOVE fat phobia! But only in private, really.

I have deliberately gone into Jenny Craigs' just for the dellcious experience of seeing all the ladies get up and rush me!

"You can lose 5 pounds by Monday!"
"Really? I'm not really sure I need it."
"Come to the scale!"
I go. We see a high number.
"My Goodness! Let me go home and ask my wife if she wants me to lose anything."
"Oh, surely she will be delighted if you get back to the size you were at the wedding!"
"I was 240 pounds at my wedding, ha!"

Like that.

Here in Spain, it's not like the USA. About 15% of people are obese (BMI 30+). You walk down the street and don't usually see fat people.

I’ll guess it’s the Mediterranean diet that makes it less prevalent there? Indeed, it’s probably the healthiest diet plan out there…but growing bellies are so much more fun to view :-)

I don't know; these are very general statistics. Specifically in Spain, 4.5% of people between the ages of 18 and 25 are obese. I'm 22, btw. I'd like to be part of that low percentage. I feel destined to be one.
