Anti-foodies?

I expect to be a massive outlier here (no pun intended), but I've never considered the process of eating to be particularly pleasurable (not only in the context of weight gain, but in general). I understand it's nice to have a treat once in a while, but I've never felt like eating food just for the taste of it was ever a goal for me.

I think a good analogy would be gaining muscle - you have to exercise regularly and follow a well balanced diet for the best results. And none of that is your goal. At times it may feel like a chore, but you do it anyway, knowing it's just a mean to pursue your real goal. There still may be exercises that you really enjoy doing, but it doesn't really matter in the greater scheme of things.

I've always felt the same about eating. You need to eat in order to be alive. And you need to overeat in order to gain weight. And my actual goals are being alive and gaining weight rather than eating itself, even if it's some food I genuinely like. This is why I consider myself to be a kind of "anti-foodie" (to be clear on this one - I don't have anything against foodies - I just wanted to point out that my goals are completely opposite of that of a foodie).

Just wanted to note that I don't find this an issue for me at all, since it allows me to plan my feeding sessions better in terms of sustainability, health, and weight gain speed.

I've just been wondering if there's more people in this community, who have similar outlook on the matter.

I think this why some people find it hard to gain weight. Some people are like, "How do I get fat?!?" And the rest of us who love to eat are like, "... Wdym.. You just eat, man"

Interesting you found a will and a way to overcome that.

You're absolutely right about it being hard to gain for people like this. I've been straight up skinny most of my life and I still struggle to maintain my weight while I'm not gaining actively.
