I’ve been an active feedee fisherman for several years, but for the last six months, I’ve been having knee pain. I read online that I might have osteoarthritis, and one of the contributing factors is being overweight—my body simply can't handle the strain on my joints. I’m actually quite active physically, even though I do like to laze around a bit given my weight. I even tried going to the gym, but the pain in my knee remains the same. I’m a bit worried the doctor will tell me I need to lose weight or undergo surgery. Has anyone dealt with this before? Would I be able to function normally—or perhaps even play sports—after a potential surgery?
