After many years of interest in watching people gain weight over a short period of time, I finally decided it was something I wanted to do myself.
For context, I am 6’1 and and 76.2kg as of last Monday (the day I started my gainer journey). I have always been very skinny and lean and do have quite a fast metabolism, as I very rarely work out, so I never throught gaining weight myself would be an option.
I began by eating breakfast, 3 crumpets with butter (I very rarely ate breakfast previously? and then I was adding 150ml of double cream to my diet. Taking my daily calorie intake to around 3000 a day. By day 4 this didnt feel like enough because the feeling of being so full and stuffed felt so good. I then began melting 100g of lindt chocolate into 300ml of cream and drinking it in one sitting, I would then have 30g of Highly Branched Cyclic Dextrin straight away to raise my insulin levels and ‘trap the fat’ . For the past 5 days I have really upped my food consumption and my daily calorie intake has been between 4000-5000 calories a day.
I decided not to weigh myself until day 8, which is today. I climbed on the scale this morning, after having a wee and prior to eating anything to make sure I could see my actual weight increase. My weight was 75.9kg, I was so so disappointed and disheartened. I felt a never level of confidence when my stomach was so full and bloated that I really thought it would have made a difference. Did anyone else have this problem when they started their weight gain journey? And does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do to really push through this demotivating outcome. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
