So slowly add in smaller snacks between meals. Eating more at a big meal hurts and makes you sick, its the grazing between those that helps stretch your stomach out safely and makes changes.

That’s exactly how I have increased my capacity over the years. I have always enjoyed big meals, however, eating a huge meal occasionally is not nearly as effective as eating a little bit more every day and snacking a little bit more in between.
