I've never been interested in the 'cooking' or 'eating someone' part of it, but I like the tension and the danger. It's like mixing a thriller or a horror story in with the sensuality of feeding and fattening. I like the fantasy of the feedee knowing (or perhaps not knowing until the last minute) that there's a danger. There's also a bit of domination and submission in the concept.

I'm into hard vore (eating someone) but what appeals to me most is the thriller tension of deception and manipulation. The feedee knows they're getting fatter and may even be an enthusiastic participant, but they don't know the hidden motive of their feeder until it's too late to fight back or escape.
The feedee is unknowingly complicit in their own fate. They build the feeder's trap around themselves bite by bite until their secret goal is met. When it's time for the reveal, the feedee is shocked to discover that they've grown too fat and helpless to escape or effectively resist what's coming.
In my fantasies, the feedee struggles hard towards the end to avoid being fattened up anymore, but they're so helpless now that all they can do is amuse their feeder as they make the final preparations to eat them.
While they squirm and gurgle, they're force fed almost tenderly and the feeder gently teases them about what a wonderful meal they'll make and how much they enjoyed tricking them into growing that soft fat body.

I LOVE that, those are some of my most dark fantasies, and I love the thought of being treated like a pig, like fattened livestock, but lovingly so. Its so erotic yet thrilling.
