Pokémon is the easy answer, so to shake things up I’ll say Rune Factory. It’s an exiting fantasy world with loads of quirky characters, many of which you can fall in love with.
(I’ve also heard one game in the series has an overweight love interest, which I adore).

Probably Fatal Fury or Street Fighter, you get to do cool stuff like throw fire balls plus you're less likely to potentially die from world ending threats

The OP only asked about video game worlds, so that's how I answered and how apparently everyone else answered. I may have answered differently if I could include TV and movie worlds. Then again, maybe not.

Fair enough, that’s how I answered also and I probably would have had a different response to if I was considering other forms of media.
