You can name your URLs to shorten them by putting [url=insertlink]textdisplayed. Then, just close off the URL like you normally would.

Even though I started this thread I have doubts about making it a real thing.

This site is, among other things, a haven for those fleeing conventional standards of attractiveness...do we really want to create new standards for people to worry about? I'm afraid a serious contest might do that.
