I have seen that long term use has made people gain a lot of weight 40+ lbs. being mentioned as a reference point. It is a antihistamine as well as periactin or apetin syrup.....so all antihistamines make you tired/sleepy this reducing your activity level. Obviously things work differently on different people. It sounds like if you ha e a rash you should continue and see how much more weight you gain.
I am curious to know if you keep gaining.....over the course of a few months?

I tried using benadryl to gain weight and it didn't do anything appreciable.
