BBWcreator82:
This is a bad choice and move for the site. When a website decides how its viewers see it in their own home, we have a problem.

It's not the website's job to tell you how to view a site. If you want to use its incognito mode, no one should be able to stop you. It doesn't matter what the reason is, it's not the website's job to judge anyone for any reason.

All the changes I make here are for a good reason and not done without thought. In this case cookies have been used to store the search information to save on database calls and not reduce page load times.

Thanks for highlighting the difficulties this causes when trying to browse more privately. Your privacy is important to us and something we want to protect. I’ll reassess the alternatives to using cookies to see if something can be done here, perhaps I can make some speed savings elsewhere to offset the additional load this would create.

Some feedback:

In my opinion, having to re-select preferences if you're not using cookies is the least of the issues with the new search function. The biggest issue is that it's useless for probably a vast majority of the users on the site.

For example, say I'm interested in seeing pictures of women between the ages of 20 and 40. Well, such a simple request is impossible because you can only select one option from a drop down menu. Same thing for weight, etc. So I end up not selecting any modifiers, therefore the function is basically useless. I doubt I'm alone with these frustrations. The competitor site has had slider searches for over three years now.

Another small issue is that if you select modifiers for viewing "general" pictures, then go to view pictures of "food" or "art" and then return to "general" the original modifiers have already been forgotten.

Can I also request that the default for videos be "newest" instead of "recommended"? I'm not sure why this is the case for videos but not pictures.

yeah don't like this new approach to pictures, as it doesn't remember your preferences after you've logged out.

I would like to request again that the image search preferences be linked to a users profile and not stored as cookies. For anyone using an incognito browser, the search function is pretty obnoxious. Since you can't view pictures without logging in anyway, linking the preferences to user profiles will solve this annoyance for everyone.
