Foods to help with gaining

waysidegrad:
Oh ok that definitely explains it then. Are there other snacks you'd recommend for subcutaneous fat? Do things like chips help?

I ask because the routine right now is to eat normal during the day and then feast on snacks at night. The snacks mostly consist of chips, ice cream and chocolate but it sounds like the ice cream (and chocolate too?) need to be replaced with other stuff[/quote]

This is a great question that I've been meaning to ask myself. I don't want to do the heavy cream thing, but also want to err on the side of subcutaneous and a casual conversation to divvy up which foods go where, is exactly what I need, too. smiley I love ice cream and chocolate, though! LOL!

Trying to figure it out, too. Let's see if I've got these right so far...

Subcutaneous:
cheese, most kinds
Cheesecake?
creamy chip dips
nuts and nut butters
regular butter
other...?

Visceral:
sugar
chocolate/candy/cookies
ice cream
beer/alcohol
pop/soda
carbs like bread, pasta, crackers?

What about meats like sausages or burger patties?
