I'm 75 years old. I have seen diet plans, weight loss drugs and weight loss surgery come and go. I have personally known two people who died from taking Fen-Phen. I've seen and heard about a lot of people who have died or became permanently disabled from weight loss surgery. (They keep blaming the "old" surgery, even when the new became the old.) Basically, your body can't tell the difference between someone in a concentration camp, and someone who wants to look more fashionable. We will never see the eradication of obesity.

AI has degraded most of the computer experiences. Obvious garbage that does not follow basic laws of physics, with comments indicated this trash is real, has ruined it for me.

I don't think there is any way to keep the weight off for 99% of the people. Even people who have had surgery eventually gained the weight back. I personally know two people who died from weight loss drugs, and know of many more who died or became disabled from the surgery.

You can't assume you can always lose it. I know of at least 2 people who are over 600 pounds, and one of them just planned to gain 50 pounds and stop (she was average weight). It's not a matter of willpower, it is a matter of your body dealing with the new normal and unable to reverse itself.

Your body tries to maintain the status quo. If you are thin, it is likely to stay thin. If you are fat, it is likely to stay fat, Some people are able to switch from thin to fat, but then remain fat, sometimes Very fat (600 pounds). So make sure that if you find a way to gain you are happy staying at that weight.
