I'm convinced it's both, genetics and clothing. Genetics set the foundation but I have seen numerous girls whose shape was most definitely and very obviously altered by their choice of clothing.

Weight Watchers food?
Blech...I feel ya!
No one ought to live that way, no matter their body size!
LOLOLOL Maybe that's how it works... you really, truly don't want it and have to be very hungry to suffer through it??

Reminds me of the old "FattenUp" website, the very first fat positive website I ever saw when I started exploring the internet looking for other guys that liked fat girls. It was started by a guy who's girl started gaining weight and he liked it. He found her more and more attractive the fatter she got and wondered if there were any other guys like him. The site was originally just pictures of her as she gained but kind of grew into a place for all of FAs to interact. It's been gone for many years now. Anyone out there remember that site and that beautiful purple bikini she had and looked so good in?
She was a very happy girl, which is why these photos remind me of her and that site.

I don't seem to remember that one, but I do remember something called Fat Girlfriends, probably from about 15 years ago. If memory serves was started by a guy somewhere in the Northeastern U.S. whose girlfriend plumped up nicely in just a few short years. It was a generally positive community of folks who supported confidence in their ladies.
Oh yes, THAT is the one I'm thinking of. Fat Girlfriends. FattenUp was a different site I found around the same time but a little later. Fat Girlfriends is the correct name and description. Thank you.

It is a lot, but its also not that hard to do. Even if the only meal you go super hard on is dinner, if thats an everyday occurance, it adds up.
My record was gaining 5 lbs in a week, although Im sure a lot of that was water, as I was as having some bloating issues at the time.
I agree, it does add up and she certainly wasn't trying. My personal record, that I'm aware of, is 7 pounds in one week. It was over Thanksgiving and was spent with a girl I was dating at the time who was pretty much a feeder without knowing anything about this kink. She took great pride in those 7 pounds (much to my surprise) and promised to beat it in the future - also to my surprise, and I don't doubt she would have tried and succeeded if we had gotten married. She would have married me if I had asked and sometimes I wonder if I should have. She was an amazing girl in so many ways.

Even if you remove the 'encouraged' part, it's still quite interesting to think about! Like, I wonder how many people would choose to get fat if they'd spent their life in a society where it was just treated the same as dying your hair, or getting piercings/tattoos? I think it'd be a surprisingly high percentage.
It absolutely would. There are already examples of this in the world. Some South Pacific islands like Tonga in particular, being fat was always the desired body to have, right up until they got American television introduced in the 70s(?). Then they all started wanting to be skinny and even the king started sponsoring weight loss contests and such. Made me sad that our culture was "contaminating" another so negatively.
I believe in Nigeria(?) some rural areas that practice a more traditional lifestyle, girls are deliberately fattened when they reach a certain age, complete with living in a sort of large cage to limit activity, while other people from the village keep her well fed and the village mothers spend time talking and teaching her how to be a good wife, mother and adult female in their culture. I think the practice is falling into question and being discouraged now but it does offer a glimpse into real life cultures and lifestyles that to us, seem like a fantasy come true.

I'm glad you had "that" many. I've read other events people try to do and literally no one shows up, even though several confirmed.

When I was in my tween years, my mom gained a little over 100 pounds in a years time. At the time, I hadn't discovered my interest in WG yet and I have no memory of even noticing her gain, but I remember overhearing her say it after the fact and for some reason it stuck with me - apparently for future reference. Interestingly enough, around the same general time in life, it was my dad commenting about my younger sister being a bit chubby that is my first recollection of noticing and liking chubby girls. She was only 16 pounds overweight at the time, but she would have been 3rd or 4th grade for her, so definitely enough to notice if you look, which I did out of curiosity. She was in a one piece bathing suit at the time and I had never really noticed her body before but I did then and instantly loved the softness, roundness, curvy fullness of it. Always took note of it after that and started to see her as a girl and not just my sister.
Anyway, getting back on topic, I do remember calculating my mom's comment out to 2 pounds a week for a year, and wondering if that was normal or if it was a lot or not.

East Mesa here. I would so come to that if I could but won't happen this time. I would love to see how it goes though. That would be super fun!

I worked at a call center for 10 years. Saw MANY a girl fill out and plump up while working there. It was a 4 story building so sometimes we could go for extended periods of not seeing someone, only for one of us to get shuffled around and then see them every day. Always brought a smile to my face to see so much more of someone I hadn't seen for awhile. I'd invent reasons to take different routes to my desk so I could get different views of them as they sat in their desk talking to customers. I got in the habit of noticing how much of peoples leg was covered by their belly while siting straight up, so I could more easily tell if someone was gaining. Kind of embarrassing to admit now but I did do that.
