First time with heavy cream

fatowl:
Have the heavy cream with dinner or for dessert. Do not drink it after 7 PM. You have acid reflux from it, which is caused by increased acid production in response to the fat in the cream. Pepsid and other similar acid inhibitors may help.

TheLordoftheWings:
Damn.. I usually wait until around 10 or 11, then wait an extra hour before sleeping. If I drink it too early, I'm usually too full to eat anything else throughout the day

What Fatowl is saying is to have the cream after you have finished eating for the day but several hours before going to bed if possible. This will get a lot of the digestive process done before you lie down, which often puts pressure on the stomach. I speak from experience here. Having said that, it does depend on the amount of cream. I find I can take 300ml just before bed and be OK. Any more and I have the problems you describe. YMMV - The trick is finding out what you can get away with.

Coping when a partner wants to lose weight

It's possible to reduce the risk to health by avoiding too much sugar in the diet and keeping to low GI carbs will help avoid diabetes. He can still gain by eating plenty of protein and fats. I eat a lot of nuts and cream to gain. Some exercise is also beneficial.

Peanut shake

I find that eating peanuts regularly is a great way to gain. However consuming them during the day when working is a problem, especially if a call comes in while I'm munching!

I have found that a good way to consume about 200g of nuts (1200 cals) quickly is to liquidise them in a blender with water. I buy salted roasted peanuts (which are cheap), wash off the salt and blend them with at least an equal volume of cold water. I can take this to work in a bottle and drink it fast half way through the afternoon. I don't find the taste is bad but you can add banana to it if you wish.

It seems to be easy on the digestion and does not seem to fill me up so much that it stops me enjoying my dinner. The results are definitely showing after 2 weeks of this daily, along with cream before bed.

Heavy cream challenge

irishrunner:
4 weeks deep! Since starting I've gained 9 lbs and an inch each to my belly, thighs, chest, and waist. I fell my body has gotten pretty used to the nightly cream pint so I'm gonna keep it up for another month hopefully. Stretchmarks here I come!

That's the way to do it! Congratulations.

Pretty good weight gain shake

I'm sure it's at least as good as those expensive weight gain preparations, as long as you are not lactose intolerant.

Seeing new fat and being turned on

Edxl:
Some years ago we took our cat in for her annual appointment, and had a new, youngish vet (probably recently out of vet school, so likely mid-late 20s?). She was on the tall side (maybe 5'7 or 5'8"smiley and under her scrubs and 'doctor jacket' (I don't know the proper word) she looks fairly curvy. Probably overweight by medical standards or high fashion standards, but most people would have more likely said curvy or statuesque.

A year later we were back for our cat's appointment and her jacket was tight and pulling at the buttons, and her face had rounded out quite a bit, and certainly she was looking on the fat side.

Another year and she had given up on the jacket, her face was wreathed in fat, her hips had really become quite broad and she had a very definite belly jiggling under the scrubs.

We haven't had her for the past couple of years and I thought she might have moved on to a different clinic, but it turns out she is back. We just recently we had our cat in -- but under covid you pass in the carrier at the front door, the technician takes it to the back, and you talk to the vet by phone. She did mention being away for a while, so I don't know if she was working elsewhere, took maternity leave, had weight loss surgery, or who knows what. Anyway, I'm obviously curious to see what she is looking like now, but I doubt she has gotten bigger (most people hit some size and decide that is enough for them, and she had already grown a lot)

Once Covid is over you will have to find some reason to go back there and find out!

An observation / test about heavy cream

I am taking 300ml of double cream before bed every night at the moment and my digestion has now got used to this. It is quick to drink in one go and is working well.

Heavy cream is very sneaky

boundandfeed:
How long will heavy cream keep in the refrigerator? It seems to last a long time, just not sure how long?

I would say about a week but it depends on how long it has been on the shelf in the store of course. I have a mini fridge hidden away in my den, especially for the cream. so my consumption is not visible to others.

Heavy cream is very sneaky

MackTheFork:
Heavy cream is DEADLY! (In a good way.)

The only suggestions I woud make is to try and cut it with something, or drink a glass of water before or after, so it's not like BAM on your stomach-

And, also, go slow at first so you don't get sick.

When I started drinking a cup of coffee cup's worth of it when I had my feeder, she said "Well, at least we know you're not lactose intolerant." But please make sure you're not, by going slow.

Getting fat is fun, getting sick is the worst feeling.

But heavy cream, hands down, will put fat on you in a hurry. I did 7 pounds in a month.

I would 100% agree with this advice.

Heavy cream challenge

Ky Belly Boy:
So I am going from 1600 more calories a day to 3200 more calories

Sounds like a good plan. I'm about to start again on the cream, along with peanuts. Hope to gain 5Kg in a month with 3000 extra calories per day. 300ml cream and 300g peanuts per day. It worked before.
