Fattest of your friends/family

I'm the largest in my family by about 30 lbs. (Both my dad and stepdad are 190 and they're the only ones close to my weight). Honestly once I start to gain another 30-40 lbs or so I'll be double the weight of most of my family

Daily "i'm fat" reminders

Bending down to get anything at all, especially restocking shelves at my retail job, some of those suckers on the bottom shelf can be a pain restock. Especially when kids push the boxes all the way to the back.

Eating while out of breath?

Bodyofwater:
Going to the gym or for a hike/run/bike ride and having a fattening shake or two to drink while working out sounds really hot if the public aspect is okay with you.

Hey it's just resistance training, the more weight you gain the harder your heart has to work to pump blood, and the stronger your cardio will be

Where did your fat go on your body?

SumoSized:
For me, like most guys it's going straight to my belly but in the last few months a bit more of it has been going to my ass and thighs. Which is unexpected, but it feels really nice

Munchies:
Booty gains ftw!

Gonna be caked up for 2025.

That's what I'm hoping for, I still wish I was making progress faster but I'll take the little victories as they come

Mobility devices

I'm hijacking this post to say please for anyone who uses any sort of mobility device, whether it be a wheelchair, power wheelchair, or a scooter, please clean them regularly. These things get real nasty real quick. I just got some chairs in that we were letting some patients demo before they purchased them and even though they've only had them for a couple weeks I'm digging crazy amounts of food and other debris out of the cushions, wheels, and motors. Also if you have longer hair, bits of hair absolutely loves to wrap around the axels and you might have to take off the wheels in order to unjam it. So I'd recommend at least knowing the basics on how to take apart your chair/scooter in order to keep it well maintained

The new norm?

BromineMoon:
With obesity rates rising worldwide, does anyone else think that fat appreciation will become more commonplace?

It'll certainly be the new norm as in most people are overweight, but I don't think our society is close to a point where it won't be stigmatized. As everyone else in this thread has mentioned, the fitness industry is way too powerful. And I can almost see a world where because most people are some degree of overweight fatness gets more stigmatized, as more people are marketed to lose weight

When did your weight begin to affect your mobility

SumoSized:
Interesting, Ive heard from several other male gainers in the past that 350 lbs seems to be a turning point where you start to feel really fat.

Munchies:
This is also about the size your fupa really grows.

Canuck:
definitely, somewhere around 350 it became a very different experience.... getting up from chairs, climbing stairs - these went from feeling like work to feeling near impossible, lol.

and i think i already had a fupa by the time i was 350... but yeah, it really started to expand a lot between 350-400 lbs.... when you combine that with the reach issues i mentioned, it uh creates new challenges, lol

Damn now I'm interested to see what changes I'll experience in another 130 lbs or so

When did your weight begin to affect your mobility

SumoSized:
Just as the title says, I'm curious at what point peoples weight began to change how they move. It could be subtle things like changing how you lean down to pick something up or how you sit up, to more drastic things like needing to take more breaks while walking or being unable to walk at all without assistance.

For me I'm still fairly young (20) and small (between 220-225 depending on how my weight fluctuates) so my changes have been very minor. I've noticed I struggle a bit more than in used to leaning down to grab things or tie my shoes, and the soles of my feet hurt a lot more after walking for a few hours than they used to. But what have y'all's experiences been and at what weight did you start to experience them?

Canuck:
i was 150-165 lbs and going to the gym for most of my adult life. when i stopped that and started gaining, by 190 lbs i was already noticing the effect! even just while bending over to put on my shoes, lol!

one of the reasons i kept gaining after hitting 300 lbs was that, it didn't seem like such a big deal. after getting used to being over 200, 300 seemed bigger but not a lot different. but i noticed by the time i was 350 lbs i *really* started to notice. it really impacted the distance i could walk, for some reason i passed a point where my endurance really suffered a lot.

now standing is chore, but at my current size the way i notice my size the most is in how my reach has grown more limited. not being able to reach parts of your own body is a strange realization. my belly forces me to sit away from most desks and tables. and i can't reach the higher shelves in the kitchen because i can't get close enough, with the counter pressing into me.
