Looks like the eShop is getting hammered. Can't even update and they took down Pokemon bank in Japan due to it straining the service. Everything's in maintenance right now.

Yup, Nintendo's whole service blew I think. Combining the Pokebank with Christmas time probably didn't help with everyone registering their Wii U's/etc that they got as gifts.

As such, Pokebank is being delayed and it's release date is TBA.

That's right, I should probably finish pokemon Y. Nahhh, Demon's Crest is too fun.

Demon's Crest is also fairly short (but amazing), so you'll probably be back to Pokemon Y soon either way. smiley

Does anyone skank?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skank_%28dance%29

Skanking is a form of dancing practiced in the ska, ska punk, hardcore punk, reggae and other music scenes.

The dance style originated in the 1950s or 1960s at Jamaican dance halls, where ska music was played.[1] British mods and skinheads of the 1960s adopted these types of dances and altered them. The dancing style was revived during the 1970s and 1980s 2 Tone era, and has been adopted by some individuals in the hardcore punk subculture.

Originally, skanking consisted of a “running man” motion of the legs to the beat while alternating bent-elbow fist-punches, left and right.[1] Over time, however, variations have emerged across the musical world. The punk version features a sharp striking out look with the arms, and is sometimes used in moshing to knock around others doing the same.

Just reminding people about the upcoming Pokemon Bank free trial:

The main feature of Pokémon Bank is the possibility of players depositing up to 3000 Pokémon from the games in an online cloud. The referred cloud will work as a PC, and will have 100 boxes capable of carrying, like in a normal PC, 30 Pokémon each. It will feature search options allowing the player to locate deposited Pokémon.

Brigette (the host of Pokémon Box Ruby and Sapphire, a game that primarily serves as a mass Pokémon storage utility) maintains the Pokémon Bank service. She gives the player 100 Poké Miles when Pokémon are deposited into Pokémon Bank.

After the download of Pokémon Bank, it is possible to use a separately downloaded app, the Poké Transporter, to transfer Pokémon from Generation V games to the cloud. After this, it is possible to complete such migration by simply downloading them to the Generation VI game.

Additionally, the migration of certain Pokémon from Generation V via Pokémon Bank will trigger the availability of certain items within Pokémon X and Y. The transfer of Kyurem and Genesect allows the DNA Splicers and the Drives, respectively, to become available within X and Y.

Launch Dates:
Japan: December 25, 2013
North America: December 27, 2013
Australia: December 27, 2013
Europe: December 27, 2013
Korea: December 25, 2013

It requires a yearly fee of 500¥/$4.99/£4.49/€4.99 and has storage for up to 3,000 Pokémon. It also runs a trial for 30 days at any point until January 31st which is when it becomes a paid service.

Most relevant thing? This free trial period is your only free chance to transfer Pokemon from your older games (well, Black/White & Black 2/White 2) to Pokemon X & Y. So don't miss out, because it'll be pay-only from January 31st onwards.

So soon? Dang it, I had just started figuring out all the online stuff smiley

Yup, better make it quick getting stuff done before Gen V concludes, more or less.

Just got the original and a game boy colour NEVER BEEN SO EXCITED!!!

Random trivia: Charmander was never at a disadvantage against Brock like everyone thought; original Brock never had any Rock moves so you could just Ember his Geodude and Onix away (their Special is worse than their Defense).

This changed in the Fire Red/Leaf Green remake where Onix was given Rock Tomb though. Also Geodude has a much higher attack than Onix does.

A reminder from Serebii about the end of the Global Link:

For those of you who still play the Generation V Games, Black, White, Black 2 & White 2, the Global Link for those games is to go through the next phase of its shutdown on Tuesday December 10th. From December 10th, you'll be unable to put Pokémon to sleep any more, and will only be able to wake up your Pokémon one more time. This means that any of the C-Gear skins you pick will remain from that day onwards for the rest of your game. In addition to that, after you have sent the Pokémon back for the last time, you will have no more access to any Pokémon or Items in your Dream World so be sure to download them. Be sure to get this done as much as possible before the Global Link closes.

Best games played this year

I don't have X or Y, but Black/White 2 was the best of the games when it came out. It's plot isn't as good as Black/White 1, but it's packed with more things to enjoy overall.

Best games played this year

Pokemon Black/White 2, Demon's Crest, Sonic Unleashed, Burrito Bison, and Secret of Mana all stand out in my mind out of what I've played this year.
