Okay, so all of this is terrible advice. And it seems to come from not understanding what knee damage is.
This is a cross-section of the knee:
There are three kinds of knee damage: synovial fluid loss, connective tissue damage, and cartilage damage. Depending on the type of damage you have depends on if you can reverse the issue or manage it.
Synovial fluid lubricates and cushions the space between your knee joints. This can be reversed by exercise, weight management, eating specific kinds of foods, and (in extreme cases) managed with regular injections.
catalysthealthlincoln.com/post/how-to-increase-synovial-fluid-in-knee
Connective tissue damage happens when the knee's surrounding tendons and ligaments are overtaxed, pulled, or torn in some way. Usually, this can be fixed by resting the knee for a day or two and slowly building strength back up with a knee brace. In extreme cases, you may need surgery to repair or restore the tissues, but you should be fine afterward.
urmc.rochester.edu/encyclopedia/content.aspx
Cartilage damage can happen in several ways. Maybe it tore somehow, something popped loose, or your cartilage is disintegrating, for example. Depending on what happened and how severe it is, this can be managed with pain medication, physiotherapy, knee injections, or (in severe cases) surgery.
nyulangone.org/conditions/knee-cartilage-injuries/treatments/nonsurgical-treatment-for-knee-cartilage-injuries
mountelizabeth.com.sg/health-plus/article/6-treatments-for-cartilage-damage
Cartilage damage is the trickiest of the three. Unlike synovial fluid (which can be replenished) or connective tissue damage (which can heal), cartilage cannot naturally fix itself. This is because cartilage doesn't have any blood supply. And while you can manage it with physiotherapy, it can't truly fix the issue. All physiotherapy can do is strengthen the knee and keep your synovial fluid levels up to cushion the joints.

The link you sent treats the food supplement as a drug. As a drug it does not have extensive drug testing results nor is it required to.
The medical establishment throughout the world injected billions of people with an unproven mystery substance that has harmed a significant proportion of them. Therefore it's fair to treat all medical people with caution, not just the NHS.
You advocate caution with advice yet you boldly urge him to see a doctor. It's a good job he is responsible for his own decisions.

My guy ... anything you take for health purposes has medicinal properties. Multi-vitamines, herbs, bacteria cultures, fruits, bark, mushrooms, etc. Do you know what a drug is? It's any substance that has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body.
Even table salt, the stuff you put in food to make it taste good, can be a drug.
Sure, a supplement isn't beholden to the same vigerous testing as prescription medications, but they are still drugs.
Also, there's so many fields of medicine that do not focus on traditional western medication. Homeopathy, Aruvedic, Chinese, etc etc. They tend to recommend things like herb blends, teas, and supplements to treat a variety of ailments. But guess what? They are still drugs. And no amount of disdain for pills will change that.
I don't care if you are terrified of doctors. I have my opinions on your views, but I don't care because I'm not responsible for you. That said, it's extremely irresponsible to push than on someone else.
I'm not saying you should blindly trust doctors. I've seen a number of doctors accidentally and willfully harm patients. But I've seen even more doctors save and improve lives. Hell, if my mother thought the way you do, I'd have died of anaphylaxis within one week of birth. Forget all the other brushes of death I've had since then.
The best thing to do is research your doctor, educate yourself on your body, and get a second opinion as needed. Of course taking care of yourself is a must. But the average person had limited resources and education in most circumstances. Sometimes, it's a good idea to get help from the professionals.

I've taken Glucosomine with Condroitin for 35 years. In the last 2 years I've increased the does to 150% and it's more effective.
All this vague stuff about them not knowing if it works yet knowing there are side effects is typical medical establishment BS.
If you don't have noticeable reduction in pain and improvement in flexibility after a week then it's probably not what you need or you bought poor quality.
I don't need to be cautious when giving advice. The OP needs to own their decision to follow it or not. They can stop taking the stuff at any time or can decide to see a doctor at any time. It's not an irreversible decision like letting an NHS surgeon chop your leg off and then he says sorry afterwards.
The OP needs to use the most caution when seeing a doctor because those people really can and do fcuk up your life.

I never said that it was or wasn't effective. I said that there are dangerous to overconsumption. That's completely different.
Also, no one is telling OP he needs surgery. And OP is Danish, so there's no issue about him using an NHS doctor anyway.
And lastly, you always need to be cautious about giving health advice. Something that works well for one person can send another person to the hospital. For example, I can take OTC pain medication and feel fine. My partner rarely takes it because it doesn't do anything for him. Meanwhile, my grandma cannot take OTC pain medication because it causes kidney damage for her.
Same medication. Three different people. Three different outcomes.
You are right that it's ultimately up to OP whatever he decides to do. But if you are giving advice, you have a duty to give a complete picture. It's one thing if OP decides to do nothing, take supplements, or lop off his legs based because of his own informed opinion. It's quite another thing if OP makes a choice based off of not having the complete picture.
I am not accusing you of being malicious. From where I sit, you are trying to help OP.
And that's good!
That said, caution is always a good thing. You often say you like to do your own research and form your own opinions. It would be a shame to deny OP of the same luxury.

You better off sorting that out yourself. Get Glucosomine with Condroitin supplement of good quality and take what a person you're size would need assuming it's designed for a 200lbs person.
Also take some body building protein powder like collagen which is the 'plastic' components in your knees which need to regrow. Again take proportional to your size.
This will probably take a few months. You need to keep exercise light and regular to get the movement back.
The problem with going to the doctor is they will book you in for surgery and tell you to lose weight. By the time the surgery appointment arrives you could have fixed it yourself as I described above.

This is an interesting post.
The broader message is fine. There's some mixed scientific evidence that glucosamine with or without chondroitin can help with joint pain by reducing inflammation. And he most likely needs collagen. I also agree that regular light exercise would be extremely beneficial as well.
You should not dose supplements by your weight. That is an easy way to take too much. That's not too big a deal with collagen. At this present time, there are no known complications with taking too much aside from having an unpleasant taste in your mouth, feeling stuffed, or mild stomach issues.
healthline.com/nutrition/how-much-collagen-per-day#overdose
The same cannot be said about glucosamine. If not properly dosed, you can face a litany of severe health complications and drug interactions. These health complications can become even worse if you have conditions like diabetes, hemophilia, high blood pressure, etc.
drugs.com/mtm/chondroitin-and-glucosamine.html
Lastly, I wanted to touch on your comments about how doctors would respond to his situation. I agree they'd probably tell him to lose weight. But surgery? As someone who works in the healthcare industry, I've only seen a doctor recommend knee surgery right off the bat if someone's knee is extremely messed up (for example an old injury that didn't heal right or the cartilage has completely worn away). Surgery is the last resort - not the first.
And even if your knees get so bad the doctor recommends surgery, you can refuse treatment. I regularly interact with people in a professional and personal capacity who could use knee surgery, but refuse to get it for one reason or another. So instead, their doctor has them use walking aids, wheelchairs/scooters, and take pain medication.
I appreciate you wanting to help OP. That's a very noble thing to do. However, it's good to be cautious with certain kinds of advice as they may do more harm than good. This is why I suggest seeing a doctor. They have access to tests and scans that we don't and can better see the best way to handle a medical situation.

I think a lot of this comes down to the nature of this community. And when I say "community" I mean kink spaces in general. People join kink communities for many reasons. However, the main reason is to be horny.
With that in mind, the majority of people will see you as a sexual object first and foremost. I have had people of all genders, ethnicities, orientations, and creeds admit to me that they do not see me as a person so much as a means to engage with their fetishes.
If you want to engage with kink space superficially, this is fine. I've done so before, and I had a good time. But if you want someone of quality - someone you connect with on a deep, personal level - that's harder to find.
It's not impossible. I've made a number of deep, meaningful connections with users on this site. I've met friends, lovers, and my current romantic partner on here. But they were diamonds scattered in the trash heap. And I experienced my share of suffering to get where I am now.
If you want to disengage with this space, I totally get it. It's a doozy sometimes. But it is possible to find happiness here. You just have to be firm with your boundaries and manage expectations.

Please see a doctor about that. I don't care if they tell you to lose weight or not. Better to do what they tell you than to deal with pain management, surgery, or a knee replacement.

Look. I get being nervous about doctors. Trust me, I do. But your knee will not get better. It will get worse.
Now, if you want to do some physical therapy at home to strengthen you knee and change up your diet to include foods that help repair your connective tissues, you can mitigate some of the damage. Maybe invest in a knee brace.
If you take a gaining break and maintain, you can prevent it from getting worse.
But depending on how much you've damaged you knee, you may not be able to really fix it on your end. After all, you can't give yourself steroid injections or operate on yourself.
And if you have to lose some weight to feel better, it's hardly the end of the world. You can always gain once your knee is better. There's no need to let fear dictate your life.

Yup. I've been stalked twice before, so I know how tenacious someone can be.
I also had a user who spent several months specifically harassing me even after I blocked him. He didn't stop until he got permabanned.
If someone wants to share all their socials, more power to them. I know some people are comfortable with that, and more power to them. But if you think just blocking some will stop them from harassing you, I recommend talking to some of the other users on FF. You see it most with women and femme-aligned people, but men and masc-aligned people deal with it too.

I know that being weak is your thing. But I cannot overstate the importance of taking care of your knees. They are one of the most important parts of your body to take care of as you grow. I know the struggle is sexy, but the last thing you want is busted ass knees that scream for mercy with every step you take.
Especially since it only gets worse with age no matter how much you weigh.
