Finally overweight!

Growinggut89:
My bmi is 28.5 now I’m finally overweight and going ever closer to obesity how should I celebrate??

Are you kidding me? I would never have guessed your BMI wasn't over 30! You will be HUGE when you reach that number then!

Appetite stimulants

Wat:
I tried Periactin which is a medication they actually prescribe to underweight people and experienced nothing but extreme drowsiness.

It's normal, Periactin is, like Benadryl, a first generation antihistamine. Both cause a lot of drowsiness.

Periactin is the medication many patients of African origin buy in pharmacy to encourage weight gain in girls deemed "too skinny". It's available without a prescription in Canada.

Appetite stimulants

Finickyfeedee:
I don’t know about the OTC ones you have listed, but I want to say on the general topic: don’t get prescription strength appetite stimulants unless you actually have a medical need for them because the side effects can be brutal. Having battled an eating disorder, I’ve been on both Periactin and Megace before at different times. They work very well, at least at first (I found they lost effectiveness over time) but they are only worth it when the alternative is eating so little it’s dangerous because they can really mess with your mood, energy levels, and general health.

MarshmallowMinotaur:
Agreed … mirtazapine for depression and metoprolol for blood pressure are notorious for causing weight gain … BUT! mirtazapine can knock you out, and metoprolol can kill your sex drive. I have used both, for their intended and prescribed uses, but I stopped them. The benefit of weight gain is not worth the side effects.

As a pharmacist I have to disagree about Metoprolol causing weight gain in a significant % of patients.

It's very true of Mirtazapine, however.

Any accidental gainers on?

Which is why I never have beer or pizza but I'm still unable to maintain my weight. It just keeps rising.

If I get fat I think I'll just embrace it and let go of the control.

Why suffer if I'm going to get fatter no matter what I do?

And you were not fat before? Or you were but you thought you were maintaining and you realized you weren't?

Psych meds

Ursula:
I drank antipsychotics and antidepressants, and I still drink. Indeed, many of them increase weight, especially neuroptics
Specifically respiridon, triftazine, olanzapine and clozapine(I live in Russia, so the trade names may be different)
You can gain up to 20 kg per month and so on

MottiF:
Holly molly! That’s sick! Why gaining weight with meds intentionally? Better eat fattening foods!

VisibleBellyOutline:
Just to clarify: I completely disapprove of using meds to gain (or lose) weight. I was merely observing that for the brief time I was prescribed Mirtazapine, I did notice some quite dramatic weight gain.

Yes, I'd say the top 3 medications that will make you gain weight are: Mirtazapine, Olanzapine and Depo-Provera.

Hating myself for this fetish and being fatphobic to others out of self hatred

Slasher92:
Being conflicted over your kink is understandable, but shaming fat people isn’t the “moral” thing to do as you put it.

I don’t believe you quite understand how harassment can have long term damaging effects, and how it’s full of hate.

You’re not morally superior to someone based on your weight or BMI.

Furthermore, fat people are PEOPLE. With real feeling and emotions. They experience the world every day like everyone else.

You have internalized fatphobia that YOU need to deal with. Not anyone else; YOU.

You don’t get to just ruin someone’s day or mood just because you’re in a bad place mentally. That’s abusive behavior.

You have a lot of growing up to do.

Amen.

Any accidental gainers on?

Yeah, me.

I'm watching my diet, counting every calorie and barely ever allow myself to have any the good stuff.

Yet, it's undeniable, not only am I not losing weight, I'm slowly but surely gaining. How is that even possible?

It's as if my body is making fat from air.

I see people here enjoying their food, eating all the things I miss so much until they are stuffed: cake, donuts, cookies, ice cream, french fries... I envy them...

I wish I could do that but if I ate like this myself I'd get huge in no time.

I can't afford to keep buying larger clothes, but my whole wardrobe is size XS and I'm closer to a size S and soon... M.

Why the heck is my metabolism so slow? I didn't have my thyroid checked in a while but I bet it's not that. Premenopause already? If it is I'm terrified of menopause.

The almost non existent layer of fat I had on my abdomen has become a small paunch that keeps getting thicker and softer. When I drive my car I swear I can FEEL it jiggle a little.

It's weird because, as much as I hate my belly, I get so horny whenever I need to suck in to squeeze into my size 25 jeans.

They still button, but the fabric digs into my flesh and the zipper keeps unzipping a little.. I keep checking to make sure it's still all the way up.

At least, if I wear a hoodie, I can still hide it but at some point people will notice.

Already I can only imagine what my friends, family, coworkers... must be thinking or saying behind my back.

"She used to be so thin, what happened?"

"Maybe she's pregnant?"

"She has a small muffin top now!"

When I started at this job people kept telling me how skinny I was and asking me for diet tips on how to lose weight.

In the last months, at least 3 people told me that I look "healthier". Which means even my face is getting fatter.

I've always loved fat... on other people. Enjoyed the contrast the sharpness of my bones and the warmth of their fat.

I'm totally freaking out. What should I do?

Mentos/coke bloat

Tako:
Diet coke causes the biggest reaction with mentos, but normal coke is totally fine too. You could also use other sodas, but they aren't as effective. (videos on yt show it) A positive point of diet coke is the lack of sugar. If you overdue it with normal coke you could get dizy.
You also have to use the normal mentos, not the flavoured, coloured ones. That won't work.

As for the process: You can do it however you want it. I'd recommend to drink the coke first and then swallow some whole mentos (not chewed). You could also do it in waves. Drink a bit. Then swallow one or two and repeat.

As for danger: The only real ''danger'' would be the overload of sugar by drinking like 2 litres of coke in a short period of time.
The thing is, that you can easily and at every moment deflate by burping. So if it hurts or you just wanna stop: burp. So you can't really hurt yourself that way. Just listen to your body.

nearly missed that: For this type of bloat you of course must hold in the air and hold back the burps for as long as you want the bloat to last.

PS: Just be careful! This bloat actually increases your stomach capacity like hell.🤣

It increases it, for like, forever?
