Hey, does anyone want to help me build a meal plan or talk about meal planning in general?

LydiaFatOttter:
I do a ton of cooking for myself, but I'd love some ideas for good food that's semi-easy to make, tastes good, and is cheap and somewhat healthy (as gaining to 400 pounds can be).

Anyhow, I tend to get minced meat, beef trimmings, and bacon as standard.

I was looking for a meal with a max of about 5 ingredients, not counting herbs, spices, oil, and such.

I know we all love our sugars, but I need to keep that under control, sadly, so starches, fats, and proteins mostly.

Also, the goal would be 2500 to 4000 calories a day on a budget of 75 to 100 Aussie dollars a week.

So, anyone got any good ideas?

This list is pretty good. I forced myself to not have fast food today. I wasn't sure if I could do it. So I ate stuff I had at home already - most of it is in this list. I'm at 2100 calories with dinner and a snack (maybe 2 lol) to come. I will cross 3000 easily.

Two part problem

Morbidly A Beast:
My guess is that you’re under estimating how many calories you consume just to metabolically function while also underestimating how many calories you burn in daily activities

You need around 4500 calories just to sustain 350

NoMoYoYo:
I've looked at a few weight gain/calorie requirement calculators based on age, height, weight, activity level and rate of gain. I've seen as low as 2250 and as high as 2500 calories per day for my 205 lbs (for now) to gain. Who knows how accurate the calculators are? I over shot the target by over 2000 calories per day last week.

Morbidly A Beast:
That’s the thing there only as accurate as how precise you are being in your variables. I would just keep at it despite fiction you don’t get magically fat overnight it’s a process. It helps to love eating and stuffing

I do love eating and stuffing hahaha. In my years of gaining and losing, I've never plateaued this quickly. Maybe this past week was just an anomoly. Just seems strange to me.

Two part problem

So I'm having trouble dialing down my eating. I'm addicted to feeling full and food in general. Last week I averaged 4500 calories a day. This was after a month or so of eating about 3000 a day. What I don't get is I only gained a single pound (1.2) from my previous weigh in a week earlier. It's good because I wanted to slow down. I had been gaining 2-3lbs a week. But it doesn't make sense, I ate more calories than I had been and barely gained.

My worry now is that if I am able to ween off eating a bit (a big if lol), will I lose weight? Even if I stay in a calorie surplus for my daily requirements?

Pants, under or over the lower belly?

I wear pants around my belly. I'd like to wear them under, but I have short legs, they'd seem even shorter.

"fat moments"

A few years ago at a work Christmas party there was a buffet style dinner. I did pretty well for normal people, but I could have eaten more. After leaving, on my way to grab my car
I stopped at a hot dog stand. I was devouring a sausage the rest of the walk to the car when a co-worker caught up. He looked at me and said, "wasn't there enough food at the party?"

Breakfast

I'm going to be going out for breakfast soon. Just waiting for the rest of my family to wake up. Don't know they know I'm a growing boy? I'm starving.

Increasing one's appetite

While shakes can be great for gaining, if you don't enjoy them then it's not worth it.

Take your time. You'll get discouraged if you try to do it too quickly. Add a snack here and there. Put a little bit more on your plate. You'll get there.

Dream size for your love

I met my wife when she was in the 210s. She's now in the 320's (I believe).

She's never been happy with her weight. But a few years back she bought a scale that goes over 270. She wasn' there yet, but it opened the door to it happening. And now she has by far surpassed that weight. I've always loved her, but now there is more to love.
