I just noticed that the format to the Notification page has changed. I also noticed that there is no notice when we get a new profile view or comment. Is this maybe a bug? As it is now, we just have to click the Bell to see if there is something new.
Not sure if this is just me or if other people have noticed it.
Also... The profile search button is not working for the website on my laptop. I use Chrome as a browser. However it will work when I log in with my phone on android.

I've now doubled the character limit for story chapters to 20,000 characters.
Hopefully, this will make it a lot easier for you to upload your chapters and arrange the chapters in a way that more suits your story plot.
Also for short stories, it may be possible to upload the whole story in one go without having to mess around with chapters.
I can't really increase the character limit beyond this with the way the story section is currently configured, because it will make the pages too large a download for mobiles. Currently, each web page displays a whole chapter at once so we can't increase the character limit too much.

As a basic member you have 5 free messages, and it's a rolling limit, so each message becomes available again after 24 hours e.g.
Message No: 1
Used: 23 hours ago
Available: in 1 hour
Message No: 2
Used: 20 hours ago
Available: in 4 hours
...etc. for up to 5 messages.

I would say the majority of authors struggle to earn a full time living whichever publisher they're with, only when they get to the top of their game does the money really start rolling in.
Having said that it can be a nice side earner, if it's something you enjoy doing in your spare time then why not make some extra money out of it while you're at it?

The character limit is there to help authors divide their stories into chapters. Chapters make the stories easier to read, because they can be read in small chunks. It's easy to remember where you got up to.
The chapter limit is 10,000 characters, which is generally the upper character limit of most short stories. If you have a longer story then you can use chapters and there's no limit on the number of chapters you can have.
