Fortunately, a lot of cheap food (and certainly meat and cheese) has more calories and fat than normal or premium food.
Cheap cuts of meat have more fat on them, and cheap cheese is about 35% fat. Cheap biscuits will have more lard and sugar (but less butter, so it averages out)

Dude, it took me 10 years to accept that I liked fat women, and another 5 to let anyone know. Kudos to you.

Now this I didn't know. But there's no coincidence they call it a 'beer belly'.
Alcohol has long been my #1 WG tip for three reasons:
a) it's fattening in and of itself - about 200 calories a pint

when you're out drinking you tend to snack, and pubs usually only stock fatty stuff, like crisps/chips, nuts, pretzels
c) coming home after a decent session the late-night kebab vans and greasy pizza shops suddenly look tempting rather than revolting
