If you can get access to it, Periactin does wonders for temporarily increasing how much you can eat. The effects are pretty drastic for me, since I have a low capacity most of the time it still doesn’t hold a candle to what other people on here can eat but if I take a Periactin I can eat about two or three times as much as I usually could. I have a prescription for it as an appetite stimulant, but it’s also sometimes used for migraine and was originally used as an allergy medicine and it’ll still make you hungry if it’s prescribed for one of those reasons. In some places you might be able to buy it OTC, too, but it is prescription only where I live. I haven’t experienced any side effects aside from needing to drink more liquids and mild tiredness.

I started out my weight gain journey so underweight that it was medically dangerous, and so for most of my life, nearly everyone I know has been pushing me to gain weight in order to stay out of the hospital. I actually got into feederism after finding these sorts of sites when researching ways to gain for health reasons, but for years I never had luck actually gaining even when I tried.
Now, finally, I have gained enough weight that I am in the “normal” BMI range... and somehow no one seems to have noticed. So, my friends, family, and even my doctors are all always trying to get me to eat more since they still see me as that super underweight person. This is great for me, because it means that my doctor keeps prescribing appetite stimulants and my family and friends keep buying me food and not judging me no matter how much I eat as long as it is regular food.
When should I expect people to start catching on that I’m getting bigger? I worry about it a lot, because I’d like to get to 200+ pounds but I suspect that long before I reach that goal, at some point people will notice the path I’m on and start trying to stop me from gaining instead of helping. How do you deal with it when third parties try to stop your gain? Are there legal OTC appetite stimulants that work? I can’t get away with insisting I’m gaining for health reasons forever because once I hit a certain point that will become an obvious lie.

I started off dangerously underweight and I’m still not fat yet, but I have gained enough to reach the “normal” range and go up from a size 0 to a size 4, and the moment when I first realized it was actually a significant gain was when I went to get dressed one morning and grabbed an old size 0 pair of jeans and could not get them on without extreme difficulty, and when I decided to try to pull them on anyway to see how they’d look, I could barely move in them and for the first time in my life I had a very visible muffin top! My gaining journey isn’t over and I hope to someday get to a minimum of 200 pounds, my belly has a slight softness to it right now which I have really enjoyed but it isn’t enough.

Having a *variety* of foods always on hand and a habit of wanting to sample a bit of everything. Some people get a special kick out of alternating salty/savory with sweet.
Keeping a variety around is essential for me because I get specific cravings and don’t want to eat anything else at all so having, say, oreos in the house can make the difference between not eating dinner or going on a big binge. So, I always keep around a ton of different things even though I tend to eat them one at a time. Thank you for the advice!

Honestly, try to minimize standing. Take naps after meals if possible. I've also read that if you're able to, fasting for bits of time makes your metabolism slow so you'll pack on fat easier.
If you're not against it, heavy cream or ice cream shakes every week or few days helps put a ton of weight on.
And keep on snacking whenever you're doing anything, it'll help a lot. And replace water with high calorie drinks like apple juice
Fasting for bits of time (sometimes very long bits of time, since I forget to eat when I’m busy) is a habit I’ve already got, so whenever I do manage to up the calorie intake, it always has a big impact! I usually gain a few pounds a week when I eat a lot, but eating a lot is what’s hard for me.
Heavy cream is something I’d love to try someday but isn’t doable with my current living situation- I could however try to eat ice cream more often. Juice could also make a big impact, I’ll bet- I’m always thirsty because of a medication and drink more than most people in a day, so it could add up. I’ll have to try it!
Thank you for the advice!

I’m trying to change my habits so that I can someday gain and maintain to a higher weight without constant effort. So far I have had a pretty successful gain- about 15 pounds so far! It’s been a grind, though, and my biggest fantasy is to be lose control and gain without trying or even while trying not to, so obviously I’ve got to make some changes.
The new habits I’ve been working on picking up right now are keeping bags of chocolate around the house to eat from all day, eating when I’m up late at night, and increasing portion size. The latter hasn’t been that successful because I still get nauseous when I eat too much, but the first two have been working so far!
What are your most fattening habits, and what habits do you think would be fattening? How do you pick up a new one and stick with it?

I don’t want to be a yo-yo gainer, but I am because I have trouble eating enough to maintain my weight when I’m not actively gaining. I hope someday I’ll learn to like eating enough to keep weight on, but until then I’ll keep yoyoing 15 or 20 pounds. Personally, I like both gaining weight and being bigger, but I don’t like eating very much, which makes it difficult.

I live with family and I don’t want them to know that I’m gaining on purpose, so drinking heavy cream or gainer shakes isn’t really an option for me, they’d catch on straight away that something was up. Over the holidays I have been drinking eggnog with great results, but now that the holidays have ended it isn’t in stores anymore. Is there anything comparable that I could drink that would also be believable as something I was just drinking because I liked it? My stomach capacity isn’t great so it should preferably be something that packs a lot of calories into one cup. The brand of eggnog I was getting had 420 calories in one cup.

BigNoni:you can get there!! honestly it’s easiest (for me at least) to just intuitively eat rather than focus on eating enough- just eat almost constantly, or overeat extremely whenever you can. but every person is different- and if counting the calories for your goals is how you wanna go- go for it! i’m absolutely positive you’ll reach your goal!

Thanks, I really appreciate it! Being able to gain by just letting go is a long term goal of mine, I hope I can train myself to enjoy eating and feel hungry all the time like some users report here.
Unfortunately right now if I want to gain I have to really push myself, I’ve been battling selective eating disorder for years and so if I just let go and eat what I want I always lose a lot of weight, because what I naturally want to eat throughout the day tends to come to less than 1300 calories, which is not even as many calories as I need to avoid medical distress.
On the bright side it means I can get as many prescription appetite enhancement pills as I want from my doctor, but even with those I have to make a conscious effort to eat frequently enough, they just make it possible to fit in more before becoming uncomfortable. I had a big appetite boost a little while ago after a few days of stuffing and was so excited- but then it went away again.

I know exactly how you feel! I’m doing the same, it’s hard without the encouragement and my partner has no idea about this, he thinks I am on a health kick! I’m at the largest I’ve been so before this I just want to push my gaining benchmark! i usually do it once every few years when I’m on the heavier side. It’s just the support side I struggle with
Good luck, I hope you’re able to reach your goal, too! Even though these last couple days have been rough I have at least managed enough calories to gain a little bit, at least according to the calorie counter I’m using.
