Any health risks for drinking a quart of heavy cream a day for a week?

I would say it's pushing your luck. It is not good for your health to gain too fast and there could be unpleasant side effects from not digesting that much fat completely.

Wearing jeans under or over belly?

ShakesSphere:
Under the belly does not work because my pants fall down! Try putting pants on a beach ball and you'll get the idea.
Also, my partner doesn't let me out of the house that way. "That's something only I get to see!" she says.

This is dead right! I have a choice of either wearing the belt very low down under the belly, which I am not brave enough to do in public, or else wearing high waisted pants well above belly button height. Anything between the two just does not work (pants fall down). I find high waisted stretch jeans with an elastic belt by far the most comfortable option. Belly well tucked in and can hang low inside.

Only other solution is braces (suspenders) which I don't get on well with.

Weight gain tools?

I have had fun with a funnel and tube I made myself. I used a 2 litre plastic lemonade bottle with the bottom cut off. I attached a length of clear pvc tube to the neck, I think it was 1 1/4" diameter and on the end of this a stainless steel 1/4 turn ball valve with a short plastic pipe as a mouthpiece. I hooked up the bottle to a high shelf with a wire coat hanger and sat on a chair underneath.

I was using this for drinking 3 pints of beer in 10 seconds (a personal challenge) and it worked well. I have not yet tried with anything else but maybe I'll try with a cream based weight gain shake.

ChubbyAthlete:
Wow, only 300ml? I would've guessed closer to 500ml or more! That's awesome that a small amount of heavy cream per day can cause you to balloon up like that!

van:
300 ml is nearly 1,000 calories. If you eat normally during the day and have 300 ml of cream daily, you should gain around 2 lbs a week.

Peanuts are nearly the same number of calories (828 cal per cup), so if you eat a bit more than a cup of peanuts a day along with the cream you should gain 4 lbs a week - providing you are totally sedentary and able to digest the cream properly lol.

This is right and that's why I'm gaining pretty fast. The trick for me is to have the cream and peanuts at times when it doesn't affect my appetite for normal meals. If I overdo the cream or have it just before bed then the consequences (acid reflux) tends to put me off the whole gaining thing.

Have been eating 300g of peanuts a day (1800 cals) on some days.

How long is the delay until excess calories eaten become weight gain?

When I start a gaining session for a couple of weeks, my belly gets big and hard to start with and about 2-3 weeks later I notice more flab developing in other places. So yes, there is definitely a delay before the subcutaneous fat develops.

What happens if you drink it at night? I can't drink it during the day because then I am not hungry for meals (it's very satiating).[/quote]

I get heartburn (acid reflux) if I have the cream before bed. I find that taking it after breakfast means that my appetite for lunch is pretty much unaffected - I usually have quite a substantial lunch with salad and fruit.

Fastest way to get fat fast

I have been on 300ml heavy cream per day on top of my normal meals for a week now and can really say it works. Have also been consuming a good quantity of peanuts between meals and find that my weight has increased by nearly 8 lbs over last 2 weeks and plenty of flab coming! It's a turn-on feeling that larger belly sitting in my lap and fatter bum beginning to spill over chairs.

Best time for me to drink the cream is about an hour or two after breakfast. It does not seem then to give me any digestive problems. I can't take it late at night.

Heavy cream results: anyone who is on heavy cream.

softgainer:
I've just started a pint of heavy cream before bed every night three days ago. I'm really curious to see what that's going to look like a week or so from now.

soylentlilac:
A pint of heavy cream has about 1600 calories. After 7 days that is VERY roughly 3.2 pounds’ worth of calories. So if your diet is otherwise balanced, that’s how much you can gain by adding the cream.

ILuvChubbyChix:
Wouldn't it be closer to 2.5 lbs?

Whether you can keep that up for 7 days in a row is another matter, though. I'm not judging anyone who can't, but I think most can't.

That estimate also seems posited on 3,500 excess calories being an extra pound. Whereas, a kilogram is 9,000 calories and thus, a pound would be 4,082.

Of course, you (or others) may say it's not that simple, and you would be right. Water retention, for one thing. But the human body also isn't going to be completely efficient. I think getting 80% of that would be very impressive.

Fat in general, though filling, is however very efficient in that regard. But this filling effect might prevent or discourage snacking that otherwise may have happened.

But after a certain point, if you go past your current capacity, some of it is discarded. A little TMI perhaps, but I think this may even change the color of your *ahem*... waste if you go overboard enough. It's why you can't drink oil (not that it would be very tasty!).

On the other hand, it seems that one's capacity likely increases, the heavier you get. I couldn't keep that up for a week, but some have said or claimed 10 days or even two weeks in a row.

I must say I have tried this sort of regime and found that a pint of cream just before bed would give me awful heartburn in the night. I can manage a pint a day, spread out, although there are some side effects (TMI). Incidentally, Double cream (which is the UK equivalent of heavy cream) is 2800 calories for 600ml (1.27 US pints).

boundandfeed:
I have noticed my BP is up from the cream/extra fat. Is this a normal result?

My BP tends to go up when I gain but I have never worked out what particular food (other than salt/sodium) causes it. I do find that exercise helps keep it down, even if I don't lose weight.

I'll experiment with heavy cream over a couple of weeks and see what it does to my BP (and my weight). Will update you.
