Hi all,
We have uploaded an update this morning and unfortunately we're experiencing a few teething issues. Some pages haven't been working which has now been fixed, but there are a few other issues such as the message viewing limit that we are still working on.
We should get this all fixed by the end of today, 4pm BST. Once fixed your message views will be reinstated. So not to worry!
Apologies for any inconvenience, but do please bear with us, we are aware of the issues and are working hard to get this fixed for you!
Cheers,

We don't make announcements of the site schedule. This is simply because things change, and certain projects and improvements overrun so we can't commit to specific deadlines. We work flexibly because we are a very small team. So sometimes improvements and new features need to be put on hold, due to needing hiccupx to work on other site areas such as critical bugs or a new issues that arise that become a priority.
Most of the time we simply soft launch improvements, and new features without making a big song and dance about it, and of course when improvements are being made to the back end of the site, users won't necessarily notice. Although sometimes a forum post or notification will be added to make users aware of changes and improvements.
We are constantly and continually working on the site and we log users suggestions so that when we get round to working on a site area or project we can check bugs or suggestions users have made that we can implement with the update.
Sometimes this means that users requests are not actioned straight away and may take some time to be addressed, but we do save them and refer to them when we create our work/ project plans.
Chat is such a mammoth task that needs a complete overhaul and tbh I would say it's unlikely to be this year, although it was on our plan for 2023. So this is likely to be rescheduled for early 2024. However this may change, we may get time to start work on it, or it may be postponed.
Thanks,

I just wanted to chime in. I think even if there was a way of coding general chat to not even see certain members that could help others.
For example, people I've had to block I can still see in general chat and they can still interact with me there. Well the reason I blocked them in the first place was due to toxic behavior.
In someone else's situation they could feel unsafe if they are approached. Sure reporting can happen but at that time they could feel very vulnerable and unsure what to do.
Totally agree, and is something we will look at adding when we update chat. Chat needs a complete review and update which is on the list. It's such a big project and due to this we have to make sure we set aside appropriate time to work on it. We tend to work on the site in sections, and have a plan that we work with throughout the year to make improvements and introduce new features as well as fixing bugs an issues.
Thank you for the feedback it really is appreciated as we want FF to work for its users, so its important for us to hear your ideas and feedback!

Hi Canderson206.
Thanks for your question.
As Letters And Numbers advised. Blocking someone stops the individual from being able to contact you directly on the site via messages, chat, comments, liking.
Currently you can still see there activity on public spaces of the site such as forums and content galleries. Although this is something we are going to look into going forwards.
Thanks,

The chat resets once a day, but that should only last a few seconds.
I have entered chat this morning and it seems to be working ok. Are you still having issues?
If so, just let me know and we can take a look.
Thanks,

Hi 2seatsalways,
Thanks for getting in touch. I think I get what your asking now! Apologies for the confusion before.
You can comment on a piece of content using the comment button. This will leave your comment in the list underneath the picture, video or story.
You can also reply to comments by clicking reply next to the comment you wish to respond to. This will add your comment underneath the original comment.
For shouts, there is always a text box underneath the shout with a reply button to the right hand side. When you type in a response and press reply this will show under the original shout.
While there isn't a reply button next to each reply comment. If you use the main reply process as described above for shouts and content, then your comment will just be listed underneath and shown oldest to newest.
Comments and comments replies are not limited. So you should be able to reply. However it doesn't tag the person your responding to, so they wouldn't get a notification of your reply unless it was the original poster.
That all sounds a bit confusing, so just let me know fi you have any further questions.
I do think it would be better to add a reply comment option to each comment. Or a way to tag members that you are replying to. As this would then notify users when they have received a response. So I will bring this up with hiccupx.
Cheers,

c00kie this definitely does clear up what I was curious about thank you. Perhaps that is a feature that can be worked on in the near future?
It's officially on the list for improvements to site features. So thank you for noticing this issue and bringing it to our attention!
Take care,

Hi Clayton442,
This user may have been deleted for scamming members by our admin team. Permanently banning an account would delete the users site activity, content, messages and profile.
If you encounter someone who you believe is scamming others on the site, please report this to us asap. You can use the abuse report button which is a little grey flag on profiles and content. Or message myself or any other moderator directly if you feel it is urgent.
Thanks,

Hi Mustbecomegluttonous,
This is an interesting idea. So it would be like a private group that members can create and then invite other members? Or maybe a button in private chats where you can add others?
Would like to hear from others if is this is a feature you feel would improve chat. , would add to the chat experience?
My only concern would be that it would take away traffic from the main general room. But it is something we could consider.
Thanks for the suggestion!
