Why not both? You can be supportive if she gets serious about losing weight but until then, no reason she can't be comfortable in properly fitting clothes.
She might just of had a little freak out moment of self doubt or insecurity. Those can go either way and result in one deciding to lose weight or with a little reassurance, continue on, business as usual. I mean, a girl can look in the mirror one day and feel beautiful and look in the same mirror the next day and feel ugly. No harm in reassuring her that all is well and she's still beautiful.

I've gained 22 so far this year without seriously, consistently trying. Hoping for another 15+ by end of year. Would really love to hit 200 but that's 23 away... Maybe
It's possible but you'd have really enjoy a lot of food, which can be easy around the holidays.
A few years ago, I gained 7 pounds over Thanksgiving week without even trying.

Not a whole lot different. Just a bit softer with a hint of a little thickness around your middle. That'd be my guess.

Sounds pretty common here actually. I love watching a girl eat. I'd love to feed her while holding her but getting a little messy or burping doesn't do anything for me. I'd rather have every little bit of food in her mouth where she can enjoy it and we can watch it contribute to her growing body. :-p

When I was married, I was with my 5'3", 300 pound wife at the doctor for a routine checkup. After taking all the vitals plus a few more, he congratulated her on being one of the healthiest people to visit his office.... And then turned right around and scolded her for her weight, saying how unhealthy she was. I about died of laughter.
Your doctor has "done his duty". Talked to you about your weight, given you a prescription. He may be assuming you want to lose weight but "can't". He probably thinks he's being helpful. He can't make you take the pills and if he continues to mention it, just politely say that you are aware of it and if you ever decide to lose weight, you'll do it without pills or you'll discuss it with him then, or something like that, or maybe even say you focus more on all the other vitals and aren't as concerned about weight as long as all your vitals are good.
You really truly can not weigh your health.
