Eating lard?

Roni2241:
So I’ve been using heavy cream to gain for a while and I just happen to really love the idea of eating straight fat.

So obviously I want to eat straight lard as a way of gaining.

Does anyone have an experience doing this?

I’m aware it’s extremely unhealthy but don’t really care so

Don't do this. This is an extremely stupid thing to do.

Setting aside the heart health stuff I know you don't care about, this will mess up your internals big time. Assuming you can even get it down in the first place, you'll have an upset stomach. And then there's the misery you'll put your intestines in.

This is also setting aside the increased risk of gallbladder issues, which can lead to you not being able to eat large amounts of fat without extreme pain.

Just fry things in lard like a normal person.

Why are people so angry at fat acceptance movements on the internet?

Baby Princess 23:
Hey I dont really know if this topic belongs here but I am so confused why some people on the internet, making videos or comments, on how they hate fat people.
Everything now is just "gloryfing obesity". When bigger people share what they eat in a day, the comments are full of hate just cause they ate a piece of white bread.

I would love to hava a little discussion on this and mabye you can share some thoughts on why the online culture is so strange nowadays

Someone once said that fat shaming is one of the few socially acceptable forms of bullying. And it's true. Thanks to medical fatphobia and diet culture, a lot of people see being fat as a kind of moral failure.

How dare you not conform to societal norms? Don't you understand how unhealthy you are? How bad you look? They think fat people are a burden to society. In their minds, the only good fat person is one who feels bad about it and is trying to lose weight.

You really hate to see it.

Angelette:
I am feeling suicidal right now. I have no access to therapy. It's dark out anyways and I have work in the morning.

I feel foolish for eating dinner. Because I don't deserve it. Since I can't go anywhere alone. I found a way to disappear. If only I had the guts. That is to starve myself.

I love to eat so it won't be easy. I probably won't succeed anyways. But well I now let my thoughts out. I assure some people will get mad at me but oh well. I've been scolded a lot of times for being mentally ill.

The Ultimate 1992:
But how can you be depressed and live in America, it's the place of dreams.

You know how many people in England want to see America but so many are too poor to travel there and the people who do are the talk of the town.

In 2006 I visited Florida for 2 weeks and it really was the best holiday ever, since then I have being pining to go back to see more states and get even fatter.

I hope your in a relationship with a good person right now because you need that when ill with mental health.

1. Go take a long walk off a short pier.

2. Not you out here being too stupid to understand how depression works.

3. You should go read a book or the newspaper on what living in America is actually like.

You are impressively dumb and heartless. "You can't be sad because I went on vacation once in your country and had a good time." That's like me saying to you "You can't have problems because you have free healthcare."

You make me sick. It's people like you that drive already depressed people to suicide.

Just a question

Ky Belly Boy:
I was wondering. Is it faster to gain weight by gulping down melted ice cream, or eggnog, chocolate milk, etc or eating? I have the worst teeth ever. So I want to start gulping down anything good and fattening.

If you have bad teeth, I wouldn't stay away from super sugary things. Unless you want to yank them all out and get some dentures.

Eating might be better for you. But if that's too much, then you might be better off with foods that don't encourage tooth decay.

This is a great idea. However, I don't want my dad knowing I am taking therapy. Since I can't drive yet and he's the one that drives my car. We work together.

I guess I could take the bus but then he would be wondering where I went. I never went alone before except for walking to a nearby McDonald's when we couldn't afford WiFi back then. He is a helicopter parent, after all.

Edit: I was replying Munchies but somehow my comment didn't get attached.

Munchies:
What's wrong with your dad knowing you are in therapy? And what do you mean you can't drive yet?

Angelette:
Years ago when my sister received therapy through her insurance. My dad somehow found out my sister was talking negative things about her. If we criticize him, then he thinks we think he's "the bad guy."

I never learned to drive at age 16. Currently I am studying my notes for a driver's test. It's been tough to find the time having a busy life.

Abuse survivor here. My mother didn't believe in therapy either. Something about how you should go to God with all your troubles instead of relying on man.

I suffered for it. I suffered until I realized she was abusing me and preventing me from getting better.

And then I decided enough was enough. I don't have to live like this if I don't want to.

You know what I told her? I told her that she can have a living daughter or a rotting corpse. And if she decided that she'd rather have a corpse than a living daughter, I'd get help just to spite her.

Scared her to her core, but it was the wake up call she needed. My mom abused me, but she loved me too. She was hurting due to past trauma and unconsciously ended up hurting me too. So she backed off. And our relationship has improved because of it.

Thanks everyone. I did talk to 988 weeks ago. I might again because work has gotten worse for me. I wish to quit my job right now. It makes me miserable.

MarshmallowMinotaur:
I didn’t see if you mentioned having a doctor but if you do they can very likely certify you for temporary state disability. I occasionally have to do it for my back (failed lumbar fusion). Depending on how long you’ve worked and paid into the fund by employer withholding you could be eligible for a couple of months. No promises but it’s something to consider. Contact your state’s unemployment office.

Angelette:
Thank you but I am not physically disabled. I hope your back healed though. 🙂

Letters And Numbers:
It’s possible to get FMLA leave for mental health conditions, but you would need to be working with a doctor who could write the letter. It is possible though.

This is true:

dol.gov/agencies/whd/fmla/faq#mental-health

That said, if you go on FMLA, it's unpaid. So talk with your supervisor, HR, and your doctor to discuss your best options.

Is yoga a good way to stay healthy or should the gym be a priority?

MrOverstuffed:
With weight gain I know there are a lot of things that need to be taken care of, knees, back, healthy body function, etc. I don’t want to struggle and feel miserable if I gain weight and put my life at risk, so I want to keep working my body while gaining weight. Is yoga good to stay in good health or would the gym be better?
The gym environment just kind of stresses me out, I could easily do yoga at home.

Both are good. If you'd rather do yoga over the gym, that's fine. Just make sure you get your cardio in somehow. Walking can be an easy, non-gym fix for that.

Is it all about the calories or how often you eat or both?

MrOverstuffed:
I’m wanting to pack on some pounds, but I don’t want to go in blindly with raw force in eating as much as possible. Should I look to consuming as high in calories as I can, or eat just more often throughout the day, or a mixture of both? I also don’t want to fill my body with crazy unhealthy foods, occasionally I might wanna have a night to go crazy with McDonald’s, but I’m sure that can’t be an everyday thing. I also occasionally like to drink a gainer shake, though if it’s more recommended to use that to gain weight I might take it more routinely.
What are some methods of gain weight for yall?

There are lots of ways to gain weight. Some methods are inherently better than others while others are subjective. That said, there are something things to keep in mind.

- You will not use all of the calories you eat. Some of it will end up in the toilet

- Consistency is key. An occasional food binge will not lead to any (if at all) significant weight gain.

- How much you gain depends on your metabolism.

- Not all calories are created equal. Keep this in mind when making food choices.

- Read the nutrition labels. The more serving sizes you eat, the more salt, sugar, fat, etc you consume.

- Have fun. If you aren't having fun, you're doing it wrong.
