When I was eight years old, I gained 35-lbs; tipping the scales. I ended the school year with a normal weight. By the time school started, I came back to school heavier. My sister and the neighborhood kids began calling me fatty.
My mother tried to put me on a diet to lose the weight. She bought a tape measure and a scale to see the weight progression. My mother and sister were always slender; while I grew into the fat girl stage.
Relatives would compare my sister and I with the weight. My relatives would always pat my belly and say: you’ve been eating a lot.It was like that they never seen a fat child before. I soon became a junior Belly Bucker; enter a Belly Bucking competition. My relatives started calling me a butterball.

By the time school started in the fall, my starter belly would be much bigger. I could no longer suck my belly in.
