Personal trainer defends obesity…sort of?

Munchies:
This is a good point. Sure, women will always have it worse when it comes to fatphobia, but men aren't safe from it either.

For example, it's common for people to see fat men as ugly. How often do you hear people mocking men for being fat the moment they do something someone else doesn't like?

I also see people tell fat men that if they want to find love, they have to have other things that "make up" for their fatness. Hell, when my partner told his parents about me (before we even met or he showed them a picture of me) they were worried I was a scammer trying to get his money. It wasn't anything I did or said. They were convinced that no one would want a 500 lbs man unless they wanted to use him.

Thank you! And you also got a point as well when it comes to emphasize the part when I mentioned the men. It’s already hard enough to be a guy in the modern dating scene, but to really try and prove yourself even as a bigger guy is a whole different story.

Oh and how you can relate to your own personal experience (with your current partner) was an interesting thing to mention. Especially true when usual couples get together and people wonder if they’re using them or just ONLY for a fetish.

Anyone here prefer playing games alone?

Kitsune:
I was hesitant to play Smash Bros with my siblings during Easter but I played anyways. Of course, I ended up looking like a tomfool. :'(

I've come to realization that multiplayer games overwhelm me and I prefer to play in single player mode. I rather play for my own enjoyment and not be judged by others. Anyone here in this same boat?

Now, I should play my good ol casual flash games sometime.

Munchies:
Generally, I prefer to play solo, but sometimes, I enjoy playing with other people Depends on my mood.

My favorite multiplayer game will forever be to Fire Boy and Water Girl series. I don't know what it is, but it scratches a particular itch for me.

Enas:
OMG, my childhood nostalgia hits so hard rn! I still remember how on the jungle temple game there are some wooden planks that hang from a chain (and would tild when you land on them) i would play this with my sister too!

Munchies:
The best part is you can still play these games.

Is it me or is it kinda wholesome to see other users bonding over games instead of coming at each other’s throats for a change? ☺️

Interesting read so far! It seems like based on what you wrote there and your research, it seems like yes we all do know that obesity to an extent does have its risks. But also what exactly is health if you only look at someone based on looks alone? It’s kinda like you are using critical thinking in hand. I like that!

I also like the last paragraph that you had written there. It’s almost kinda similar to what you said on the forum post about why so many people are mad about the BP/FA movements. Heck you can base some of the stuff you have read there to help you out (especially with the few early comments I made on that)!

The only critique that I can say is that I don’t think that it’s just only women who are tired of being bullied. Though they are the majority, I think some men have had their fair share of it. Or really anyone else who doesn’t fit the “beauty standard” is all fair game.

Otherwise I hope this assignment of yours goes well for you!

In all honesty lately I have been enjoying the offline mode of gaming a lot more now. Don’t get me wrong the online multiplayer is fine every once in a while. But offline mode gives you that zen when trying to relax.

And since that I play a lot of car racing games… I like to have the freedom of choose whatever car I want, whenever I want without anyone mocking me for how bad I am at racing!

Fatcon?

JN_TumLover56:
Honestly I don’t think that feedism shouldn’t be part of body positivity. Yes both have their similarities but I don’t think that they should coexist. Especially since it will be bad representation and reputation.

Other than that, I would actually go to a convention like this! Just to see what it would be like attending something like this. 😅

Arame:
Oh I would too. lol
I’m going to the next one for sure. lol
I’m curious as to why you think the two coexisting would be a bad representation and reputation

Alright so you’re not entirely wrong that there’s SOME sort of body positivity within the community of feedism. Especially when getting a little boost of confidence from people admiring.

But with the two trying to coexist with each other is one of the main reasons why that the movement itself became a bit perverted. Especially thanks to stuff like the mukbang (the hell you spell that) culture going to far. Plus someone who just flaunts their obesity issues is going to be quite criticized a lot.

Take BBW Layla for an example (no offence off chance you actually see this). She’s been in the game for a respectable long time. But the way how she constantly flaunts her stuffings and complications of being bigger while tagging stuff like “body positivity” on to her content on the socials… it’s gonna get a shit ton of criticism! But I at least I admire Layla’s unapologetic confidence though.

Now look I’m all for those people within the feedist community who want to support any fat positive stuff, that’s cool because I’m one of them. But at the same time they should AT LEAST keep their business away/aside from it. Especially when it comes to feeling good about one’s own skin while not trying to encourage something extreme.

[my apologies for the necro-post I’ve been wanting to respond for some time]

Maybe i can't have a fetish?

Thiccbell:
So I have seen and spoke with a few asexual fat admirers here and in other social media. I don't know why but it made me feel a bit more confident. I don't know, maybe it's something about the validation or someone else that shares the same thoughts as I do.

On this subject though, I will say this. Since there's nothing else that I can identify myself sexually, I just veer harshly towards feedism and maybe because I am so socially anxious that making new connections online is complicated for me, that trying to open myself to other people about this and sharing it has been difficult.

So my "horny" spikes just consist of desire to eat and to rub my curves. I don't desire to pin/be pinned or nothing of the sort.

My tastes are just different. I just have to come to terms with that to eventually accept it as normal. Sure wish all the therapists I had gone trough, sexologists as well, would have also accepted what I feel and not treated it as a condition. Looking back, I bet they were just doing that to get to sell me pills.

I’m glad to hear that you are doing much better than how you were feeling beforehand! ☺️ Sometimes we need to take a moment to figure stuff out.

They also dangerously dehydrate themselves in order to squeeze any water weight out of their body. Huge Jacked-man almost irreparably damaged his voice when filming the prison scene in Les Miserables. And in an interview he was bragging about it because he looks like an entirety different person in that scene. Which I mean yeah it's true he did, but that's not something to celebrate

Really? He was in that movie? I didn’t even notice. But I guess that’s why from your point there.

Munchies:
Oh, it's talked about a lot. They mention it in interviews, behind-the-scenes clips, comic book spaces, fitness spaces on what not to do, and ED spaces on how EDs can manifest in men.

It might be that you aren't in spaces that talk about this.

Yeah I’m probably not. Perhaps it’s because it’s something I don’t look upon enough in my algorithms. 😅

Yes. They starve themselves, dehydrate themselves, hell they can't even season their food so it will taste good.

And then after all that, they mess up their metabolisms after all the stress and shock they put on their bodies. This is why live action superheros look more impressive in movies than on TV shows. It's not sustainable.

Really? Well I’ve heard of actors who do that method acting stuff and go on such fad diets to better suit the role. But for a superhero movie? That’s interesting to say the least. Probably something that nobody talks about.
