Longevity

Munchies:
With that said most people who want to live forever fear death. And I get it. Western culture is removed from death. End of life care is very cold, and how we treat the elderly and infirm is appalling. It's no wonder that most people want nothing to do with it.

This is why so many people live bland lives with bland food. To them, a dull, safe, soulless life is better than death. It gives the illusion of control.

We all want a good life, but it shouldn't be lived in fear of death. For death comes for us all.

Interesting take. I guess based on what you said I could also be a little bit Death Positive myself because of my awareness that death is something that happens to other people at some point. Nor does it really affect me as deeply as others. Even with my own crazy thoughts about being enthused about Motorsports and being a racing driver might have that sort of encouragement, if that’s saying something??

Anyways it’s like what I have said, I do wanna pass at a respectable age to go. But at the same time if life sucks so much, why live long for it to keep sucking? However maybe that’s what makes it even more special to make the most of it before one’s life runs its course.

Longevity

Bigwideland:
This is to get opinions,

There seems to be underlying social normality of striving to live longer and longer. Is this a paradigm worth discussing. Does our western society have an obsession with life span, and is it rational.

Thoughtful responses please.

I feel like that I have seen enough content from Nas Daily to say something on this topic. Especially since the main guy ALWAYS preaches about living forever.

I think it’s one thing to say that you want to live healthy and as long as you can, especially when you wanna be there for your family and their achievements and whatnot. All that’s great and all, but at the same time why are we also told about the inevitable truth of how nothing lasts forever?

In other words, if someone wants to live long and healthy then more power to them I guess. But what about you (and I’m asking myself this)?? Do YOU want to live forever? Especially with all of the pains and unfairness that you go through of growing and living? Essentially when that means that you’re basically doing (what will feel like) the same thing almost every day but longer until you get too old to do the things that you wish you could do when you’re still young and functional? That doesn’t sound like something that’s worth living long in my opinion.

Now I’m not trying to judge here, I’m more so asking a question. Because while sure I don’t mind living long enough to pass at a respectable old age, I think that it’s better to live a good life other than a long one. Especially when that means that a lot of people who you care about will pass before you do, while this will be different for everyone… I don’t think not everyone is going to handle it.

Extreme obesity irl

NYCBellyBlimp:
I like Social Influencer JayBee's truth and energy, as unfortunately the same issues from the 80s-2000s are still present in 2025. I give her credit, though IMO (over time)..1 can't expect society to 'act right' much less make accommodations for those disabled or super/ultra sized to make life outside easier.

Yeah I think I agree with JayBee stuff as well. It’s very unfortunate A LOT of people don’t sit well in her comments section.

My fat-phobic parents

I like how this forum post had went from the OP addressing concerns from their parents, to a debate about toppings on a pizza.

Pdf (public displays of fat)

Bobo:
Sooooo into this...! In the right situation. I love pretending I don't know my t-shirt isn't covering my belly and seeing people look me up and down, it's a thrill!

I was at a nice resort and went up to get ariother towel. The towel girl was so sweet! I didn't feel embarassed that I was standing there in a bathing suit, knowing my stomach was hanging, and tits sagging.

We got on the subject and I said "Ah, my girlriend loves chubby dudes!"

She looked me up and down and said "Well, she must be very happy with you, then!"

Love.

Sounds like an excellent story! Wish there were more positive experiences shared like that y’know?

Why are people so angry at fat acceptance movements on the internet?

Kitsune:
I doubt anyone forgot how internalized fataphobia is in human society for centuries. It's more like why is it so trendy in the algorithm on social media platforms plus on YouTube these days?

It's like the Gamergate Campaign of the early 2010's when it was trendy for terminally online guys to hate feminists and gamer girls. I still remember that so-called word "Feminazi." There was even internalized misogyny with the "better than other girls" mentality which years later aged like spoiled milk.

Algorithms and social media platforms have changed the way people think, unfortunately. Red Pill content on YouTube for an example attracts the Gen-Z crowd. (which is my generation) I assure my brother born in 2007 watches that crap since he's constantly worried about the future.

Maybe the anti-fat content will die down someday and people will move on to the next new thing to detest on. Not to say that is any better, just a sad part of life. You are right though fat-hate in general isn't anything new. It's just mentally draining to see it in your own online space. It's those few reasons why I am trying to quit Reddit cold turkey.

I think that this is well said! It seems like thanks to more far-right and “red pill” stuff, it really seems to make going onto the internet a place to get anxiety to a point where my brain explode out of my ass. Especially on YouTube hoping that nothing harmful shows up on my algorithm, if not for the content then what people will say in the comments section.

Funny thing is that even before the BoPo/FA movement first peaked I still remember people posting their distaste/dislike comments on fat people, but I mostly saw it in more fetish content (understandably). But I have never thought that it would get to a point where we are now. It’s quite something… I’m disappointed for sure, but also not surprised at the same time.

I mean here’s hoping that things will die down and people could move on and leave plus size positivity alone. But it’s looking a bit bleak right now, but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t stop believing in the positive.

Why are people so angry at fat acceptance movements on the internet?

ShyBi91:
I've noticed it's gotten worse recently. I've assumed it has something to do with the algorithms but I think that fatphobia has always existed just below the surface. It's people making a final play to hold onto their superiority imo.

Jumhum:
I fear that it's because of American conservatives. Those fuckers wanna ruin everything lol.

I think I mentioned something like that in a way earlier post on this topic. I have noticed that the more conservative sides have a big no no for the FA/BP moments compared with Liberal sides or Moderate ones.

When her belly's so big you can't wrap your hands around it 😩

Oh yes this is definitely a real turn on for me! I mean hey I like to touch the belly button of a BBW like the next fella who does. But being able to reach around from the behind while almost struggling to reach it is quite hottt.

As well as other things too. But this is the one for my case. Especially speaking from my personal experiences.
