My best friends mom hovered in the 350-400 range while I was growing up, and going over there afterschool meant always a fresh batch of cookies, and as much chips/soda, and frozen chicken nuggets as we wanted. My best friend didn't seem to be affected, but her younger sister is in the 200s (I'd guess around 220) and growing. For me this was having access to yummy food and it not being penalized/told as bad, as well as the normalization of eating a bunch of junk food each day, then a full dinner. Plus I was always mesmerized by the large belly.
Half of my family is fat, and I have some relatives who actively cook high fat dishes (think butter poached steak, sour cream chive whipped potatoes, etc) and serve 3.25% milk hot chocolate as a night cap. The other half are health nuts... for me, I always found the fatter part of my family was free from counting calories or strange diets and didn't have to skip dessert. Ironically it was my skinny side of the family that made being fat look so much easier and a better quality of life.

I'm short and need glasses, so I often find myself going on my toes and leaning over the counter to look in the mirror... I always get shocked by the cold counter when my belly flops onto it, my belly needing to sit on it for me to get close enough to see 😂
Also my ankles/feet hurt so bad when I don't sit for long periods of time, and how much I need to sit, even when just spending a day doing chores around the apartment.
Also not being able to wear shoes that go above the ankle (even plus size) bc of my fat calves lol.
Finally, sitting down for lunch with colleagues and mine is 2x the size 😂

My kidself's bffs mom was very large (if I had to guess I'd say in the 400lb range) and I remember she was huggable and would make us fresh cookies and KD and we could eat as much as we wanted afterschool 2-3 days a week.
I remember in 2nd grade being distinctly aware that I was the only kid with a round visible tummy too.

At my old job, there were t-shirts ordered in for an event, but when I requested my size my supervisor had to tell me that they only went up to size large lol. I was a 2x at that point, so I got it in the men's sizing, but it was still tight. I was the only person who exceeded the size limit and clearly most of the team knew it.

I get a lot of my gain in my boobs, but I actually gained thicker feet (not wider or longer, bottom and top of foot) which is a pain in the ass for shoe shopping. I've also got a decent belly, love handles, and back rolls.

Lunch today I ordered the following from Tim Hortons (hi fellow canadians):
2 x crispy chicken Cilantro line wraps
4 x Hashbrowns
1 x XL hot chocolate
6 x doughnuts
I ate it all in my car before going back to the office, but I was caught throwing away the doughnut box lolololol

Hey guys! About a year ago I moved from a smaller city (~230k) with a okay climate (snowy VERY cold winters, and extreme heat/forest fires in the summer) to a slightly larger city (~430k) in a very mild climate (very little if any snow, mostly hanagable heat, lots more rain). I've noticed in the past year that the general % of fat people I see has decreased when compared to where I used to live.
For example, where I used to live chances are 1 in 5 people I met AT LEAST one was chubby or bigger, with 1 in 12 easily being visibly fat/obese. Now, I'm lucky if I see 1 chubby person in 20 and only really see fat/obese folks once in awhile.
Is this because of less pressure/need to be skinny in more rual areas or less access to health/fitness stuff? Could it be because going outside/working out is easier in a more mild climate? Are there factors I'm not considering? How have yall found percentage of fat folks in different cities?
Sidenote: Don't love where I used to live but I super miss being around other fat folks and it being more normal 😢

I have a few:
First time I finished a McDonalds large chocolate shake and my Big Mac Meal (mmm those shakes have so many calories).
First time I ate a whole family sized bag of Pierogies with lots of sour cream and bacon
First time I ordered 2 entrees at a restaraunt and finished both (uhhh... I think one was a burger with fries, the other either tacos or something similar, sorry it was awhile ago)

Curiosity, what are the main implications when it comes to gaining on Margarine vs butter?
From what I know (and I could be wrong) butter is generally better for gaining as it is a higher fat content and made with actual cream. Further, Margarine (I may be wrong) is usually higher in Saturated fats, which work, but ultimately put a bigger strain on your heart/liver as time goes on.
What am i missing? Where is my info wrong?
