Any recommendations for a beginner?
That's a toughie – not knowing where you are on the foodie spectrum. Indian combines often surreal flavors and ingredients that can bewilder Americans. (Carrots, cucumber & garlic in yogurt = "fan favorite" really?"

I would start safe: Butter Chicken.
Standard recipe calls for: 2 cups heavy cream, 8 tablespoons butter, 6 tablespoons olive oil.....can you go f#%king wrong? Try their "garlic nan" bread – Indian equivalent to garlic bread.
And it's the sauces to cool your mouth when you eat spicy curries that push your calorie count through the roof. Always make certain you have "Raita". A cool yogurt side (any good Indian spot includes this free). It's the sour cream to Mexican food – for Indian food. Identical.

A really heavy coworker of mine mentions she orders her kids' food with the thought of what she will eat because she knows how kids are - she'll end up finishing the majority.
It resonated loudly with me because one of my all-time guilty pleasures is witnessing a scenario I've seen play out countless times over the years particularly at wing chains; a growing mom out with the fam has already stuffed herself with an appetizer, couple beers and huge dinner notices her 3-4 kids have barely touched their meals and refuse to eat. You'll be distracted by their argumentative haggling. Stuffed silly she tires of fighting with them over it.
She moves the plates closer so the server can take them away. What a waste. Her husband waiting for the bill, she stares at the kids' plates. She mentally does the scratch math, 18 damn dollars. She's painfully full but deep down she knows the right thing to do.
A good mom leads by example. "Get what you paid for, no waste, money is tight, responsible mother" then takes it upon herself to eat all of their barely touched burgers, an entire basket of chicken strips and 3 sides of fries. Even the chocolate milk.
As the thin husband and kids, full of energy are ready to leave, I love to see the mom leaned back, slack jawed breathing heavy, eyes glazed over at the end realizing this is why she's the only fatty in the family.

My feedee wife is def Indian food. Carb overload – every sauce has tons of heavy cream and butter. The nan is slathered in butter/ghee.
I've cut a deal with the owner that since I get takeout practically every night he's agreed to sell her $8 dinner for $5 if I pay with cash! No credit card fees, under the table.
Love seeing all of the female employees there grow so much over the years, too. Being on the same diet, they're all so massively plump now.

SoftInTheMiddle:For me, the most significant gain I saw was when I had plantar fasciitis (foot issue)
My wife has been dealing with exactly this right now. She's couch bound and all she does is eat. This is by far the fastest she's gained.
Though, the truly unbelievable gains I've witnessed are always due to medications. Particularly drugs like Zyprexa. They hand that out like candy to girls dealing with anything from anxiety to insomnia to depression. It's not uncommon to gain 50-100lbs in 6 months on it.
Because it changes your metabolism, blood sugar levels and gut flora you gain weight at an exponential rate that even a seasoned stuffer eating twice the calories as you couldn't match. Had some girls in our group blow up from 100 to 300lbs practically overnight and years later I found it was always either Zyprexa or Seroquel.

He may be being honest as there is a natural manipulation in being a feeder that can genuinely be a turn off for many folks - especially when there are millions of women out there who clearly have no problem becoming obese left to their own devices.

BallooningBree:
I get this also. I believe ever since I started stuffing. My "wave" is usually 2 weeks of almost everyday the. It wanes to once a week before going dormant for a bit. Then it starts all over again. Although I think the wave I am on this go around may end a little differently....time will tell
I think that's simply called the menstrual cycle! I kid because my wife would blame her 2 week eating binges on her "cycle"....eventually I think she figured out she was just a piggie.

Great updates, what weight is your wife currently?
About 190. But she's only 5'3" and weighed 100lbs little over 2 years ago. I think she'll be around 225 by the end of the summer and hopefully break 250 by year's end which shouldn't be a problem if she remains on her medication.
Has anyone here been prescribed Prednisone? She is on it now for her foot. I knew it can make people ravenously hungry - my wife is insatiable. She eats all night long. She'll make a ravioli dinner at midnight and be eating potato chips within a half hour. She's easily put on 20lbs in the last few weeks while on it. Car is littered with fast food which is unlike her. And I see charges for Dairy Queen almost every day - doesn't help her dr's office is next to one, too!

My wife bounces from 1 to 4 and back.
She's accepting of being and becoming bigger but then she blows past what she assumed her weight would be and never thought she'd get "THIS heavy".
So then, she'll revert back to 1. Try to briefly fight it.
But she'll find that the lifestyle accompanied with being thin is not the life she wants to lead...goes back to being a glutton, accepts her body and has no problem with gaining "a little more weight"......which turns out to a LOT more weight at some point and the cycle repeats.
It's easier for girls that have always been heavy to get fatter. When you start off bone skinny, there are multiple chapters of body image where you take personal inventory and have to accept, i.e. "now I'm a thick girl...I'm fine with it" "now I'm a chunky girl..I'm fine with it"..."now I'm a fat girl, but I'm not super fat".

When you lose weight by being in a caloric deficit, your body slows its metabolism to prevent starvation. Girls that diet for extended periods cause such metabolic damage because they end up slowing their metabolism to a crawl as they eat less and less.
If they revert back to even normal/semi-heavy portions of food, they will PILE ON weight ridiculously fast. Let alone if they start binging like most girls end up doing.
Freaked out by the instant weight gain, they'll then move back to a caloric deficit to try to lose the weight, slowing their metabolism down further and perpetuating the yo-yo cycle.

Gingerbeard:Did you know any girls that became fat and nerdy looking?
My wife was a tanned cheerleader, track star bombshell who became a web designer. Everybody that surrounded her were now obese donut eating web coders. She used to make fun of them. But now she has slowly slobbed out into a fat, nerdy donut eating hipster chic w/glasses and a septum ring who's right in line with them, giddy to get her afternoon ice cream.
She hasn't reached her final form, though!
